I worked at PatientKeeper full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The space is comforting and the engineering team is great. Product owners know their business very well and being int the health industry and having many doctors working at the place provides confidence on the type of work to be completed.

Systems development has enormous opportunity for learning and growth.

Aside from management employees are great people, flexible hours (although managers will be there before you and leave after you).

Employees are interested in the growth of the company and work very hard.

    Cons

Engineering team has very high turn around and with the fact that many employees quit in mass together once, this speaks for itself. Even CTO co-founder had to leave. Not very comforting.

Policies are being carefully craft although not carefully implemented.

Certain management is careless to your personal life and much less concerning engineering disagreements. Must watch out for your future carrier since things can get very negative.

Product is very complex (not a problem), you will need to work lots of hours and plenty of problem domains to solve.

    No incentive for team building.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about you employees, they are people just like you and they are the ones the build the company. Stop change CEOs.

    I worked at PatientKeeper

    Pros

Great people and benefits! Nice to make a difference with a great product!

    Cons

    Management rewards political people
and not good work. Dev director there is mean and not helpful AT ALL but his people produce and he plays politics sucking up so he gets rewarded, it is sad and QA despises him. Lot of churn and not Agile

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward and raise up the individual contributors and not those who take credit (managers) for all their hard work.

    Pros

Awesome Place to work, One of the best company in its field.

    Cons

Location is far from the city hence if you don't own a car travelling is an issue.

    Pros

They are pretty flexible in terms of work hours, everyone is friendly and helpful

    Cons

Growth rate is low, there were no new exciting projects to work on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to look into and resolve the personal issues among different upper level managers.

    Pros

Government incentives make the business model extremely relevant. Modern, spacious facility in Waltham Woods, featuring amenities such as on-site cafeteria and gymnasium.

    Cons

See title: constant turnover in the engineering organization, from top to bottom. I worked there for 2 years under 3 different VPs. CEO is currently the acting VP.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust your lieutenants. The revolving door at VP makes everyone uncomfortable. Lieutenants, listen to your constituents; higher-ups, listen to your lieutenants.

I have been working at PatientKeeper full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Developing software that will make a difference on how healthcare is administered.
Positive environment; everyone wants to succeed.
People are smart and really nice to work with.

    Cons

So much going on with 13 different product offerings. I guess that's really a pro and not a con though! :)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have a good team in place. Continue to acknowledge hard work and dedication.

I worked at PatientKeeper full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Really good talent overall and very friendly helpful co-workers.
Decent pay and pretty good benefits.
Very interesting work and excellent products.

    Cons

Most people will be working a lot of hours to complete their assignments. Not enough people to do the work. Some management can be very inconsiderate, unsupportive (for no good reason). Their business model does not seem to promote profitability so they live on VC funding -- not sure if they will ever "make the grade" and become a profitable business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk to people and don't make snap judgments. Create policies that are fair and considerate and stick to them. Don't assume you know anything -- look at the data and don't believe everything you are told -- everyone has their agenda.

I have been working at PatientKeeper full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great people, cool products, lots of upside. PatientKeeper is on the cusp of having a significant impact on the healthcare market. Physicians love using our software.

    Cons

More work to do than people to do it. As at many emerging companies, resources are tight, and there's pressure to do a lot with a little.

PatientKeeper employees donated and delivered all the furniture for a previously homeless family’s new two-bedroom apartment, set it up, and cleaned and decorated the apartment one day last fall.
