    Pros

    - Good Culture -Good Benefits -Great People -Good business model/competitive advantage Overall a great place to work as you have the ability to really drive change and help shape the business.

    Cons

-Not very much room for upward movement unless you want to relocate or get into a full blown sales role.

    Advice to Management

I have no advice to management as the cons are what they are and it is not possible to change that. Upper management is very fiscally responsible and their vision of the future is sustainable and relevant. I feel as though this company truly has it together and is setup for long term success.

I have been working at Patterson Companies full-time

    Pros

There is a very great culture at patterson. Most of the employees and upper management have and open door policy which is awesome to see.

    Cons

Comparing the compensation that Patterson provides against the industry standard shows a small gap in salary. If you are ok with having less pay for a better culture this is the place for you.

I have been working at Patterson Companies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work/life balance Patterson culture Improvements to IT systems and infrastructure ongoing Supportive management Poised for growth HR starting to take a more active roll in supporting managers/employees

    Cons

There is some "old boy" network still around, even though they have eliminated many of these people Business still feels they can dictate to IT (this has been improving over the past couple of years) Salary is a little low, but the work/life balance and other benefits offset this to a large degree

    Advice to Management

You have a lot of people behind you who believe in the direction the company is heading. Make sure you stay engaged with your employees! The Patterson culture is special and unique. Take the time to cultivate it and help it become even better!

I worked at Patterson Companies full-time

    Pros

Co-workers are friendly, fun, and engaging. Everyone is able to work independently and trust that everyone completes the tasks/activities within the allotted time frame. Note to future applicants: Negotiate upfront, know what you are worth, know the tasks and skills you'll be performing. Understand your potential growth opportunities and how you can contribute to that. You wouldn't get a second chance at this.

    Cons

    1. If you are the creative type, prepare to have your dreams crushed by following what management prescribes. Unless you play politics or are "in" with the right crowd. 2. Surprise incidents are treated sometimes as blame games and had once had an incident focused on my area to distract the source. 3. Creative thinking is allowed unless you point out the real cause e.g. project(s), timelines, or resources. Some areas are too entrenched in certain ways that alternative ways of looking at providing solutions are discarded or shelved. 4. If you have attained other skills or traits that you want to utilize, you can forget that and you'd have to be laser focused on what you were hired to do. Okay, if you like to be a compliant drone.

    Advice to Management

Management doesn't seem to take advice. This review is for future applicants. Good luck.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Compared to working in a veterinary clinic, the pros are: steady pay, benefits, PTO, no weekends and no animals try and bite you. It is almost impossible to get fired. Good entry-level position to get exposure to sales. There is no 401k match and they just started charging a yearly fee on any contributions you do make.

    Cons

it is a call center and there is no opportunity for advancement, ever. Pay is hourly and very close to minimum wage. Management is completely oblivious to what is happening in the call centers. Uneven workloads; dependent on the Territory Manager you support.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees concerns and address them. Make your young, motivated and intelligent people happy. They do the most work and have the best chance at finding employment elsewhere if you don't!
