    Management has become disconnected

    Rig Manager (Former Employee)
    Tyler, TX

ProsThe area manager in Tyler along with his is good man along with his staff.

ConsFailure to take care the honest working employee. The manager of HR has no clue about loyalty or what she is doing. Looks for escape goat to avoid issues seems to be the standard. I've followed the rule of management for 35 years but was dismissed just to show that something was done to avoid conflict with another employee. A man's honor has no bearing on anything.

Advice to Senior ManagementPut people in the position who know what they doing instead the buddy system. Just because a employee makes a mistake doesn't mean fire him.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Changing the Oil Field

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsUsing new methods of employee recruiting and training, as well as safety standards and expectations to provide extreme efficiency in workflows and an unmatched safe working environment for drilling crews. Provides leadership training conferences for all employees. Making great strides to enhance management functions to improve employee relations and accountability at labor sites.

ConsPromotes employees to crew leadership by length of service instead of those that exhibit leadership attributes. Due to nature of industry, the upper management is typically far removed from actual rig sites, allowing for unsuitable management practices on rigs, as well as lack of reporting of issues and accountability of rig managers and crews.
