Pros
Goodies and good facilities are plus
Cons
Groupisim among same class eg., language etc.,
Credit goes to x person not to the right one and not even recomended for any rewards
Unhealthy work atmosphere
Partiality with genders
Hike and promotion is only for YES FOLKS
Managers benefit the MAXIMUM
Onsight is only for the people who keep their managers in good books
Advice to Senior Management
Give opportunity to everyone not only to YES FOLKS ,live and let live.
Should think about not only the benefit for the company but also employees satisfaction
Pros
benefits
pay was better than most companies
nice campus
free drinks
nice co-workers
Cons
terrible management
performance review process a joke
no opportunity for advancement or pay raises
multiple manager turnovers
Pros
- Learned alot, so many changes and different technologies brought in, had to learn or sink
- Allowed telecommuting, very flexible with hours as long as you are available when they need you and you meet your deadlines
- Nice offices and equipment
- free breakfast foods, and starbucks coffee
- Decent benefits and compensation
- Meet some good smart people
- paid month long sabbaticals after 4 years, if you can make it that long
Cons
- Lack of finding a solid process and sticking to it. Never seen a company that loves to make so many changes to their processes that only a few people might have an idea how it works, and then chastise anyone who doesn't follow it. It should be a clue when 90% of the people are having problems figuring out what they need to fill out, request, send in etc every release!
- Need better managers that are more technical and understand their depts, most are just Yes folks for their managers, they act like they are really concerned and then do nothing.
- Better communications between depts. Teams working on the same project, are very detached and very hard to get them to work with you in a timely manner.
- Horrible training process, very fragmented and incomplete. They like to throw a new guy on a project and give them little or no support because they need a body to put on it.
- If your manager is from India and you are American, your chances for promotion are little to none if you aren't from India and their are other folks from India on your team as well. No matter how well you perform. Also, I found out from India co workers, if you are not from the same area in India they are, you wont get a promotion from them as well.
Advice to Senior Management
- India is not the answer to everything, and you get what you pay for and quality is not one of the things you are getting.
- If you are going to have other offices outside of the main one, need to improve communication and not treat them as step children. They are people too and are supposed to be part of your TEAM.
- Don't ask for something you don't allow your people to make the necessary changes to achieve it and then wonder why your product quality is suffering.
- Constant management re-orgs don't solve the problems, hiring good competent managers does.
- Be concerned when you lose whole depts every 4 years, so interesting that its right around the time stocks fully vest and sabbaticals come up, especially since no one is getting rich off of those options.
Pros
It's an internet company and leader in the field.
Cons
People don't get promoted on performance, rather on who you know.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote based on performance and not on who you know.
Pros
* Market leadership
* Huge opportunity / high growth
Cons
* Politics
* More banking / less technology
Advice to Senior Management
* More technology / less banking
Pros
Some good management
Some inventive, forward looking management, with ideas on what to do, where to go, and how to get there
Some great people to work alongside
There are folks who can inspire you to achieve great things, and they can help you make it happen
Cafe food can be good too
Cons
Some not that good management who just seem to keep their jobs no matter what
Some not that great people to work with
Pay and benefits are not that competitive
It can be hard to get stuff done sometimes, even the simplest of things can require mountains to be moved
In some areas of the company new layers seem to be the answer to "getting things done"
Different pieces of the company work in separate buildings and despite the overall goal setting, seem to go in opposite directions much of the time
Advice to Senior Management
Set common goals for all groups and then examine how they are planning to achieve those goals, on what timelines and look back at progress clearly and often
Pros
They do focus on trying to find good talent for the non customer service positions, otherwise they are just trying to fill seats for CS - but even if you are just getting in on the CS level, you can still shift around and try other departments after 6 months, it's totally based on your own willingness to succeed. So it's not really a bad thing if you get in on the CS level, your job is what you make it there. They do respect feedback regarding management, peers and basic job requirements and work to improve their employees, CS and otherwise. Benefits are comparable to other companies and the salary can be competitive. The Chandler location has 25 cent soda machines, free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and free fresh fruit Fridays. It's a good company to work for and I have recommended it to friends, which I have not done for my prior employer.
Cons
Policies, programs, systems change -ALL- the time, and you're expected to be on board the second the notification comes out. So, be sure you are adaptable to change and don't get too cozy with what you know. It takes some getting used to but is much better than other companies that stagnate and don't change with the times.
Advice to Senior Management
Thank you for listening to us and soliciting feedback. Listening to your employees as well as customers is the most important thing a company can do.
Pros
Company culture is free and company develop very fast, lots of chance.
Cons
the package is not good enough for those has work severals years in this company
Advice to Senior Management
adjust the package as the inflation rate increasing fast in China.
Pros
excellent senior management; challenging; great developers
Cons
work life balance can be difficult at times
Advice to Senior Management
Continue the path we are taking in making PayPal one of the top technology companies around the world.
Pros
Good people, good benefits, and can be a very good place to be if you are in the right team.
Cons
Low to Mid market salary ranges; stingy with the stock options; waaaay too many org changes; individual assessment is picked apart, so good people get left behind when reviews/promotions/bonuses come around - and squeaky wheels get the glory.
Advice to Senior Management
Rate people as individuals, not compared to others in the same pay grade. What I do in my pay grade isn't what another person on my team does at the same pay grade - nor do I do what some one in the same vertical does at the same pay grade. It's not fair to the employees to be judged that way.
