    Pros

Good freedom of work, very employee friendly and good salaries

    Cons

Too much planning and amount of work done is not much. Too many re-orgs/ leadership changes happening all the time at multiple levels, which continuously keeps changing the focus of your work

    Cons

Every company has cons, but I believe PayPal's pros tend to outweigh the cons.

    Pros

    Good atmosphere
    Community oriented focus
    Schedule

    Cons

-System issues becoming more prevalent since the "split".
-the focus on creating experiences customers love seems to be drifting.
-Employee Bonus and incentive revolves around newly created metrics that are nearly impossible, I have 80+ BML fulfillment exceeding top tier 3x and have yet to receive as much as a thank you.

    Advice to Management

    "Keep it human"
The agents who are providing customers with world class service should be appreciated more.

    Pros

PayPal is an industry leader in the payments space. They have revolutionized the way people pay for things online and have strived to solve that same problem in the POS space.

    Cons

Products are run very autonomously, so there is little cohesion between them. Integration between products is considered a chore by many teams, so when you compare these as a whole, there are holes in the way products work together. Missed the boat on mobile payments, to which solutions like Apple Pay have capitalized.

    Advice to Management

Spend less time trying to focus on payments for Ebay, and worry about the rest of the world. While Ebay accounts for a large part of revenue, PayPal must solve payments outside of that domain in order to be truly successful.

    Pros

Somewhat flexible working hours and ability to work from home part time

    Cons

Often expected to accomodate meetings at all hours of the day or night. No real career path. Regulalry do mass layoffs when a new CEO comes on board and layoffs are very much associated on whether or not you are in or liked by certain management. "Business Needs Moves" is a phrase you'll hear a lot as you get bumped from role to role without effective compensation or pay rises. All the talent leaves as they find better oay and appreciation elsewhere so you are constantly working with new hires which stalls progress.

    Advice to Management

Get involved in the hiring process and hire the correct skillset and provide fair compensation. Stop blocking progress by blaming the management level above you and start being more vocal. Defend your teams and promote the work they do! Don't cower under the protection of the latest Director or CEO's whim.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

    Growing network load.
    Growing staff.
Amazingly effed up technologies that you'll never guess could work.
Easy to make 10x difference to random processes.
Extreme trouble-shooting culture good for true-full stack troubleshooters.
Very good people to work with.
Great work life balance (lots of kids on site during spring vacation, no eyebrows raised; working remotely post school hours is common)

    Cons

High management is non-technical and doesn't stay too long, so lots of money/human lives poured into "projects" that never could succeed, while the essential work of paying off technical debt and scaling the system for each years new internet customers is done in the shadows by grumpy people that get poor review.

    Advice to Management

Realize that despite the organic growth from the transition to a fully digital economy, our particular organization is cost dominated by legacy code -- finishing projects to delete components/code, fixing bugs, and making code and systems more readable and transparent will have an ROI that grows exponentially year over year. Also, try to listen a bit more to the people that say "no" than to the eager beavers that only say yes and then completely screw up working systems in the pursuit of some shiny new technology, which they will abandon after it becomes legacy whilst only taking 5% of traffic.

    Pros

Great vision as a company. Benefits and most lower level employees are great people.

    Cons

Management works on the he said she said as reality. Management does not know the business they run. Be your bosses buddy for promotion opportunities. Go with the flow or be removed from the group for having different ideas. Lack of innovation in spite of real needs to improve work life balance and customer focus. Lots of stealing of ideas and selfishness when taking credit for others work.

    Advice to Management

Clean out Chandler management before all good people leave for greener pastures. Listen/look at your HR issues seriously amongst management, and rid your culture of the buddy system to be effective and make real progress as a business.
