    Pros

    Easy to get things done, decision process for projects or initiative was easy. Supportive management, good team environment. Liked the people I worked with. Very good team oriented culture. Fun culture where people enjoyed their job.

    Cons

    Salary wasn't great. because it is a small company the training from HR seem unsophisticated. Upward growth is somewhat slower there is just less opportunity because it is a smaller company. The employee rate benefit could be expanded to partner with other independent hotels possibly to be more competitive with the big brands.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Create some more processes in general.

    I worked at Peabody Hotel Group full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    I met several celebrities, like Drake, Princess Beatrice, Cathy Bates, and several others. On site free employee cafeteria, free parking (because it's in a city's center) most of my co-workers were great people! The heath insurance was decent, and the culture inside the hot is good as far as being welcoming to your fellow co-workers. Beautiful, historical hotel, great, atmosphere if you're a guest.

    Cons

    I had never worked in a hotel before, but I have 7 years of retail management and customer service skills, so I never would have imagined that I would be written up for saying to my boss " the guests are complaining that the trash bins are full" I said this like any other person would and two weeks later I was called into a meeting, where I was told about my offense, and was given a first and final write up! I protested and said, this could have been a great teaching/leaning moment for me. I had no idea this was an inappropriate comment to make, why not correct me right then and there? I was told it was because I said it in earshot of a guest! Who knew? After this incident I just shut down, I stopped feeling valued and just like another door mat. This company pays very low wages, not the norm for the industry. Policy and procedures change at a whim and the communication or lack there of is mind boggling. There was a tad bit of homophobia there, from corporate, I would say.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay the people higher, industry standard wages, keep the welcoming culture, never worked anywhere with that as a backbone. End the cronisim!

    Pros

    There are many opportunities to move up within the hotel on the lower positions (non-management). The benefits are very good from health insurance to a free cafeteria.

    Cons

    Moving up can be a challenge. Most upper management has been there an extended time. The company has been in a transition phase, so hard to judge where the hotel is headed in the near future.

    Free lunch,amazing associates and tips

    Cons

    Nasty guest, horrible bosses and too many rooms.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Need to train your director and Assistant director beacuse they are just horrible. They talk down to us, treat us like children and work us like robots. I can't even tell you how many times I done worked more than 12 days straight. Its just horrible management.

    Pros

    At the time I needed a job they accept me with my experiences and allowed me to grow and meet the many daily challenges with in the hotel

    Cons

    In a department that required 24/7 coverage whatever schedule you were hired for that including working all weekends , management were never open to rotating employees to allow a person to be with their family on a weekend without using personals or vacation days . This was bad for employee moral
