    Pros

Department worked well together, no ego problems. Excellent management of department by immediate supervisor and good communication with Marketing VP.
Helped produce beautiful product lines, enjoyed working on the various designs, and had satisfaction of creative acceptance of ideas.
Good working relationships with rest of company as well, Customer Care, printing, production, etc.

    Cons

Department was understaffed. Far too much work for the small number of artists and writers, resulting in a great deal of necessary overtime. Work area was too small and cramped.
Salary not commiserate with job experience. Felt underpaid, and with no consideration or compensation for mileage to a fairly remote location (for many).
Sometimes too many voices in review of projects, resulting in many unnecessary revisions.

    Advice to Management

Add more designers/copywriters/assistant to the supervisor. Think about compensation for mileage.

    Pros

Great people at the worker bee level, employee loyalty and commitment, corporate office location, overall industry knowledge base

    Cons

Legacy system platform, go to market strategy is stale, products are outdated, and company rests on laurels of 2 clients, slow to move to what clients ask for, some deceptive practices

    Advice to Management

Listen to market and employees, make investments faster to catch up to market, stop being ruthless and treat employees as people, take advice from any level as there are many smart people in non-management roles there, listen to field organization

    Pros

    There are no pros ...

    Cons

    Don't know where to begin!!
    1. Unstable - Financially and operationally (almost everything is reactive, fire-fighting issues)
    2. Lousy benefit - Need to wait for 3 months to get your medical/dental insurance!
    3. Strict dress code - Have you heard of casual Fri? Not this place!
    4. "Tyrant" - Very abusive, demeaning individual who is buddy-buddy with owner. Verbally abusive, but HR does not do anything because of his ties with owner. Surprised there has not been any law suit over this (or has there!?).

    Advice to Management

    Think more of your employees.

  6. Overall, a good company to work for.

    Pros

Over my time there, people started working together.

    Cons

They can't seem to get out of their own way. No planning for work to be done in time. Sell, Sell, Sell is the mentality and then figure out how to develop it in the time frame they promised the client.

    Advice to Management

Have sales force keep a holistic view of what's in the pipeline and the priorities of the work.

    Pros

Most of the employees (on a good day) are cheerful. Decent looking office.

    Cons

Executive Team stinks and has very little knowledge of what it takes to build revenue, keep clients and build employee morale. Management team is competent but extremely over worked and very under valued. This company has the worst HR department I have ever seen. Don't bother applying if you have interest in growing with a company, this place is going down hill and not moving....

    Pros

Decent place to get your start in the automotive vendor world and gain experience iin the field. Hands off, low or non-existent management pressure to perform, almost no accountability with the opportunity to maintain a very light schedule. internal staff is friendly and helpful with easy interaction. You can work as much or as little as you choose - very close to a part time job. Peak produces beautiful, high quality print products - the best in the industry.

    Cons

Little or no opportunity for career and income growth - this is not the place for an experienced, goal oriented professional. Mid level, regional managers are inexperienced and not engaged with the field. Upper management is currently occupied with slashing expenses. Small or non existent I.T. and product development initiatives. Very poor auto expense allowance given the expected travel requirements. The best print products in the industry but also the most expensive.
Peak enjoyed it's day in the sun when automotive fixed ops retention deliverables consisted of letters and postcards. However, Peak refused to invest in technology and infrastructure resulting in a gradual decline of OEM relationships and new business. Peak has not added a new OEM since 2008.
If considering a position with Peak, be aware their largest client is VW / Audi with a finite contract. Given the current state of chaos and turnover at Peak, it is very unlikely this contract will be renewed.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your business, your future, and most importantly, your employees. If your employees are happy your customers are happy. If your customers are happy, tha company makes money.

I have been working at Peak Performance Marketing Solutions

    Pros

There is a great need in this Database Direct Mail "Marketing" company. They are struggling to become a notable CRM Marketing company without the needed talent. Facing the potential of participating in the hottest segment of the marketing Industry, they have no competency. True talent with forward vision is needed. But, these guys are stuck in the 80's. It will take a lot to move them along.

    Cons

If you are a specialist, your superiors will not understand or be able to comprehend your work. They will spend most of their time establishing their superiority to mask their embarrassing ignorance.

    Advice to Management

Recruit and hire senior management that have not passed up college to spend their careers as car salesman and later being elevated by the vacuum caused in fast growing companies. Technical degrees with a Business School MBA or Specific Masters relevant to their field should be a minimum.
