    Disorganized

Manager (Current Employee) East Hartford, CT

ProsRate of pay, working unsupervised, bonuses, working with good people from the general area. Working with store team. air condition

ConsNo upper management support. upper management does not have the minimum experience to run a facility however, they routinely ask store management to do a job with little or no labor.

Advice to Senior ManagementFigure out what direction you want to go and stay the course. communicate that direction to your facility managers.

    Overworked

Customer Service (Former Employee) Lake Zurich, IL

ProsSome nice ppl free food to

ConsCall volume is ridiculous, customers are jerks who belittle you which not only does management allow the reward the customer for

Advice to Senior ManagementRecent change in management within the call center has lead to horrible changes. Some of the new "upper management" are on a power trip. Instead of jumping in & helping out they micromanage everyone. Get off your fat azz and do something instead of having meetings to schedule your next meeting

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Breaking the Law

    Warehouse (Former Employee) Hanover, MD

ProsNone unless you want to work in hell, peopod would be a good place to work but there is a women manager that talk to and harass you and the Hr dept and her boss knows about it but do nothing

ConsBeing threaten to be fired by women manager an a daily basics being yelled at and put in a slave like work environment very very unfair practices, the union that they have does nothing to protect the employee, If you make it 90 days then it will be 90 days of pure hell I have never worked for a company that harass there employees like that, and to have a poster that says harassment is against the law but do it and when you tell her ( THE MANAGER) she is breaking the law she said I do what I wanna do and if you do not like than find yourself another job

Advice to Senior ManagementGet rid of your women manager because she is breaking every law there is when it comes to harassment,
your hr dept has been protecting her so for but there is coming a day when the government is going to find out about your unlawful practices and shut you down, that day is comming

    Horrible

    Anonymous (Former Employee)

ProsThere is no good reason to work for peapod

ConsIf you are a new employee don't expect to get a route for awhile. Bunch of broken promises.the most unorganized company I ever worked for

Advice to Senior ManagementHow about hiring when you need drivers so you can give them work after there training. All I ever got was eventually it is going to get better I don't work for evntually people have bills to pay if you can't give your employees work then stop hiring until you can.

Good place to work as a driver because of tips but DON'T GET INJURED OR PREGNANT

    Driver/Ambassador (Former Employee) Hanover, MD

ProsThe money is good only if you are a driver making tips. You get to see different things and meet all kinds of people.

ConsMgt does not care about you if you can no longer do what they hired you for. you got a better chance of surviving if you get fired for incompetence. If you get pregnant or injured, don't expect them to care or for Hr to return your calls. They will do anything to prevent a claim and " save the company money".

Advice to Senior ManagementYou make your employees promise to care but you do not care about us.

Nice Work Environment, EXTREMELY HIGH Employee Turn Over

    Driver (Current Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsCo-workers are fantastic, most the time.
    Hours are okay.

    ConsZERO job security.
    Low hourly pay.
Don't be late on your route, you will be fired.
    ZERO JOB SECURITY!

Advice to Senior ManagementSupport your employees!! Every little thing should not end in job termination! We are only human.

    Disappointing Workplace

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsFriendly co-workers most the time
    Paychecks every other Friday
3 shifts to be able to fit your schedule
    Ability to have overtime

    ConsWage is way to low
    Management plays favorites
Most employees either call out or just shows up and does nothing
    Insanely high production rate
Not telling you when your getting off
Trying to cut your 30 minute breaks short and ending them late
3rd shift has to Wait for their checks 2 hours after work ends to receive them
Having to tell someone you are going to use the restroom
Changing start and end times without any prior knowledge
Firing people right before their 90th day (end of probational period)
Extremely high turnover rate (3/4 of the people you start with wont be their past the 90)

Advice to Senior ManagementGet new management
Give people their hard earned checks
    Communication needs work

    Dissatisfied with Experience

Director of Operations Training (Former Employee) Evanston, IL

ProsMost all staff people were great to work with.

ConsA long-time manager, was assumed to have the best intentions, yet protected himself by covering any problems at every turn.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo not grow so loyal to an employee that you allow them to eventually begin running what they view as their own territory, which has to constantly be protected. Everybody needs to be on board in making an organization, the best possible.
