I have been working at Peapod part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Pay on time, consistent schedule, professional.

    Cons

Demanding management, complain too much, don't take upward mobility or internal job applications seriously.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

At the Chicago crossdock, stop micro-managing so much. Being a loader or driver takes common sense. We don't need you looking at us on the security camera every four seconds while you sit in the office and play with spreadsheets or facebook. Plenty of loaders wanted to be drivers, so they could actually make a living, but you would host job fairs looking for new drivers, how much sense does that make? Promote internally, pay better, and stop placing idiots in middle management roles.

I worked at Peapod full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Some nice ppl free food to

    Cons

Call volume is ridiculous, customers are jerks who belittle you which not only does management allow the reward the customer for

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recent change in management within the call center has lead to horrible changes. Some of the new "upper management" are on a power trip. Instead of jumping in & helping out they micromanage everyone. Get off your fat azz and do something instead of having meetings to schedule your next meeting

I worked at Peapod full-time for less than a year

    Pros

None unless you want to work in hell, peopod would be a good place to work but there is a women manager that talk to and harass you and the Hr dept and her boss knows about it but do nothing

    Cons

Being threaten to be fired by women manager an a daily basics being yelled at and put in a slave like work environment very very unfair practices, the union that they have does nothing to protect the employee, If you make it 90 days then it will be 90 days of pure hell I have never worked for a company that harass there employees like that, and to have a poster that says harassment is against the law but do it and when you tell her ( THE MANAGER) she is breaking the law she said I do what I wanna do and if you do not like than find yourself another job

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of your women manager because she is breaking every law there is when it comes to harassment,
your hr dept has been protecting her so for but there is coming a day when the government is going to find out about your unlawful practices and shut you down, that day is comming

    I worked at Peapod

    Pros

There is no good reason to work for peapod

    Cons

If you are a new employee don't expect to get a route for awhile. Bunch of broken promises.the most unorganized company I ever worked for

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

How about hiring when you need drivers so you can give them work after there training. All I ever got was eventually it is going to get better I don't work for evntually people have bills to pay if you can't give your employees work then stop hiring until you can.

I have been working at Peapod full-time

    Pros

Benefits, Strong company, Growth, Bonus. The company gets bigger and busier every year, there is room for advancement for the right people. Strong Zone Managers make job easier for assistants. Good business plan.

    Cons

Lack of good help, Hours are demanding, travel to work is tough, most managers have an hour plus commute. unreasonable expectations at times. Really tough on family commitments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to be realistic on expectations and what is thrown on a Managers plate. Need to increase Sunday rate for Management. Look to promote more within.

I worked at Peapod full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Most all staff people were great to work with.

    Cons

A long-time manager, was assumed to have the best intentions, yet protected himself by covering any problems at every turn.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not grow so loyal to an employee that you allow them to eventually begin running what they view as their own territory, which has to constantly be protected. Everybody needs to be on board in making an organization, the best possible.
