I worked at Penn Station East Coast Subs

    Pros

very friendly enviorment. everyone behind the grill is welcoming and cheerful to customers coming in

    Cons

If there is a dinner or lunch rush, you may be stressed due to the amount of sandwiches having to be made with such a small amount of space.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They started pay at $7.75 and after 3 months went to $8.25 which is a bit absured.

I worked at Penn Station East Coast Subs part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Penn is a great place to start you career. They teach good work ethics and are very clean.

    Cons

Depends on you manager. Mine was litterally crazy. Yelling, cussing, bullying.
Also, you have to work split shifts. 3 hours in the morning. Then they want you to come back at night and close.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure you choose your managers wisely. Seniority is just that. If someone does not have people skills, you shouldn't promote them.

I worked at Penn Station East Coast Subs full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The food is really good and the employees were a fun bunch to work with in all conditions, including rushes.

    Cons

Promises of bonuses were empty due to "purchases" for the store. Corporate higher ups were condescending in there attitudes and speech toward the employees. Mandatory 6 day work weeks are for the birds.

I have been working at Penn Station East Coast Subs part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They try to work with you if you prove that you are worth your weight.

    Cons

There are some Managers that feel that it is okay to call the employees names and gossip to customers about the employees. That is both unethical and rude not to mention unprofessional..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop name calling and if you have something to say to someone then take them in the back away from other people and talk to them and not everyone else. Also teach the assistant managers that it is not alright to talk about the employees to other employees an customers.
