I have been working at Pennoni Associates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The larger offices have a fun young core that you will work. You get paid for overtime. There are a variety of different projects that you can work on to expand your engineering knowledge on. Starting to incorporate company standards.

    Cons

There is no clear direction from management. There have been numerous attempts to create a better communication between management and the employees, but it seems more like a reactionary response to simmer the complaints. Very little mentoring and lunch and learn sessions. Client relationship is not that best. There is a mentality of lets just get the plans done and approved rather trying to find the best solution for the client. The atmosphere does not make you want to do your best work. As a result there is high turnover in the company.

    Pros

Great work/life balance. Good people in the office. I liked working in the city on commercial projects. Mentoring is always available.

    Cons

Dependence on economy, like every company.

    Advice to Management

Provide 401K match so employees are motivated to save.

I have been working at Pennoni Associates full-time

    Pros

A family oriented employee owned company. Many employees have been there for a long time, which is going to open up room for young mid-level employees to move up the ladder as some retire. Personal needs are appreciated. There are many talented and good people there who are fun to work with. Company has an abundance of technical resources. Good benefits.

    Cons

Company structure lacks solid definition. At times, employee turnover seems to be higher than average. Salary is slightly below par for some offices. Some employees lack motivation and drive. Lack of organized training for new employees.

    Advice to Management

Try to eliminate organizational voids, motivate employees to perform their best, initiate better training.

    Pros

Overall employees are highly motivated and dedicated, the company finally began a policy to allow unused vacation time, up to a maximum number of hours, to carry over to the following year.

    Cons

HR or senior management writes 5-star glassdoor reviews to boost the company's rating on this site. Divisions are understaffed giving employees heavy workloads, employees are payed below market value, the company has high employee turnover due to job dissatisfaction, no 401k matching, two weeks vacation and one float holiday are earned per year until you've reached five years of service, no earned sick time, expect a 3-5% yearly pay raise.

    Advice to Management

Reduce employee turnover and show that you value your employees by compensating them with a competitive salary and raises, senior management and mid-level management need to be more transparent and honest with employees.

    Pros

Great people, interesting projects, best office culture ever

    Cons

It's not a place for slackers. You'll work hard. We all work hard. We're proud of the work we do. It's not a con.

    Advice to Management

Keep visiting offices to spread the mission. The COO, Dave Delizza, is the man! The real deal.

I worked at Pennoni Associates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Relatively stable employment, and mostly good people to work with.

    Cons

Horrific management that do not care about it's employees at all. As nice as most of the workers can be, the individuals running things are some of the absolute worst people to have to work with. If you are not an engineer, there are no long term opportunities or reasons to stay with this company.

I have been working at Pennoni Associates full-time

    Pros

Some truly great people work here. In general, the company does a very good job at sharing work between busier and less busy offices and divisions to help balance utilization.

    Cons

The company seems to undervalue its younger employees, and does little to help them develop and grow professionally. The company is willing to spend a lot of money to obtain very experienced individuals who often possess little knowledge of value but who have lengthy and impressive looking resumes.

    Advice to Management

Upper and middle managers should do more to encourage and demand learning and professional development of all employees. Do more to attract and retain young talent. Implement programs and cultural values to help develop younger staff. Pay higher salaries for younger staff.
