I worked at Penobscot Valley Hospital as an internPros
Working in the medical field can be rewarding. I found the rank-and-file staff to be pleasantCons
The administration and supervisory staff are throwbacks to an eat-their-young mentality. I found the HR staff and ER supervisor to be arrogant, autocratic, dismissive, unsympathetic and quick to judge. Mistakes made by disorganized and less-than-competent staff are blamed on others.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Look at the high turnover areas and blame supervisors.
Be less greedy and pay your lowest earning workers more.
Treat your employees with kindness and respect and create an environment where workers are valued as much as paying patients.Doesn't Recommend
