    Pros

Schedule flexibility being part-time, benefits, discounts, and multiple opportunities for advancement. Simply job, that keeps you active. Can become stressful and overwhelming when things get hectic, but you learn to roll with the punches.

    Cons

Weekends - During the interview process I was asked if I could be available to work some weekend, but some quickly turned in to pretty much all weekends as the part-timer.

    Advice to Management

Offer more practical and outlined training of new management trainees. Too much stuff is learn as you go, and Revenue Accelerator only tips the surfaces of the duties of an MT.

    Pros

    -Professional development in management skills
-Unique exposure to the transportation industry and logistics

    Cons

-Pay is not competitive with the market or work demand
-Average work week 50-60 hours, Tuesday-Saturday work week
-If you work in the Service Department, expect that upper level management has very little understanding of what you
-Turnover and the hiring process are laughable, inability to hire quality work or hire from within are issues, and when they do find people to fill roles, it takes on average 2-3 months leaving understaffed workforce to compensate
    -Horrible work/life balance

    Advice to Management

Obviously things such as the work week and hours can't be changed, but the amount you pay people can. The market is competitive, there are other jobs out there, and as soon as young professional bolster their resumes with you, they will leave. Basically you promote the best people that don't leave your organization, which doesn't necessarily mean your hiring the best people. In any event, good experience to work there, but I would never wish that career track on anyone.

    Pros

Established Branded Product Identity combined with the most reliable fleet and backed up with
    in-house maintenance facilities.

    Cons

Diversity hiring requirements have created pockets of extreme favored treatment for some as
well as position protections for some not even attempting to complete critical position requirements. This continues though management is aware that the Brand Reputation is
being affected by this ingrained issue.

    Advice to Management

Rethink or Monitor Diversity Practices which allow managers to alter staff from Mixed to
only Minority; while accepting the inefficiencies of some older and newer hires.

    Pros

Lot of opportunity in the company. They promote from within so if you work for a few years you can really climb.

    Cons

Have to go through every step of the ladder. No one jumps two steps. They hire whoever is the step below them

    Pros

They try to be competitive with pay

    Cons

They are the most old fashioned company I have ever worked for. The upper management acts like they care about the younger people, but they only do that because they have to. A very traditional company who's values are still back in the 1960's. Mainly old white males who have the upper management position. They say you can choose your career path and you'll be off the counter in just under a year. That isn't that case because they don't know when people will leave or get promoted. Seen a kid still on the counter for almost two years. There's not that big of a pay increase once you get off the counter, only thing you get more is a company car.

    Pros

Company is a great place to work with great opportunity for growth to upper management. Many people who start with the company end up staying for a long time.

    Cons

There are times when work life balance is a issue. Long hours can somtime take a strain on employees of the company.

    Advice to Management

Upper Management needs to take more time to check in the well being of employees and advancement should be based of performance not relationships.

    Pros

Great culture where the employee is highly valued. Great training, great pay, great benefits. The technology is the best in the industry and training is conducted in every aspect of your job on a regular basis. When you get a job at Penske, providing you produce good results, you will have a great job for life.

    Cons

Penske has become ultra conservative when it comes to taking any kind of risk. Their maintenance standards are the best in the industry but the overheads are a bit top heavy.

    Advice to Management

If you want a greater rate of growth you are going to take some risk and cut some overhead.

    Cons

So managers are sneaky. Office needs to be larger. Either expand or find a new building.
