    Pros

Good salaries and paid on time. You may find specialists and valuable individuals among you colleagues. Some flexibility in working schedule. Some projects are challenging, it depends. Good company to start learning or entry level job. You you get inside try to learn as much as possible and focus on your personal objectives. Once they're achieved, change your employer otherwise you might loose valuable years of good experience in some other better places.

    Cons

Inexperienced Management, hierarchy promotions based on friendships more than performance and skills, no culture, no values, poor and noneffective team buildings, a particular appetite to make you sign additional clauses to the working contract that forces you to stay a minimum period of time before you may quit or pay an amount if you quit earlier. Poor professional evaluation. You are almost forced to fill in an employees satisfaction survey and poor improvements. Unstable and inefficient bonus system, based most of the part on the subjectivity of your superior and not on real performance, from time to time bonuses are intentionally decreased by the top management without a solid justification.

    Advice to Management

Back to the books, learn from the successful leaders, learn to appreciate your employees who are your most valuable resources.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Pentalog full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice people in the team. Working with relatively new technologies.

    Cons

No work/life balance. No yearly/quarterly reviews. No trainings. Leave in your first year and you'll have to pay a tax, this is Pentalog's way off keeping their employees. (it was about 4 times your monthly salary and it was pro rata temporis)

    Advice to Management

Make sure you respect your employees free time. Put a performance evaluation schema in place and pay people accordingly. Provide trainings and certifications to your employees, don't keep them in the dark just so that they won't leave the team.

    Pros

The only "pro" that I can mention is that there are free french courses. But it is not a normal "pro", because you have to work off time spent for french, it means that you have stay at work after 6 p.m.

    Cons

    1. Management - it is awful, really. PM's are not competent at all. They only play politics. And they lie in order to promote themselves. The aggressive salary review strategy made a lot of good guys to leave. 2. At the interview HR will tell about how great it is to work at Pentalog, that they have very interesting project, etc. Reality is different: the projects are mostly identical, technology stack is old, when you leave the company your real experience is almost 0. 3. Everything about low-budget teambuildings, long working hours, pressure etc other guys write here is true.

    Advice to Management

Change project managers!!! Fire them all and get the new ones.

Disorganized working style. Non-professional inadequate management. The majority of the projects are working on the out-dated technologies. Low possibility of career growth. Often you have to work more than 8 hours a day. No team-buildings.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

    - flexibility - the ability to work from home - there used to be some bonuses (which are now long gone) - some of the colleagues are OK - the initial salary was good, but after a few years no improvements have been made

    Cons

    - people that really don't know my area of expertise are appointed PM. - too many administrative tasks, internal tools to control every second you spend there (as if they don't trust you and they need to check if you really spend that much time) - complicated bonus scheme - not in employee's favour - no yearly reviews, no salary reviews - managers that really waste people time with useless reports - promises are not kept - unreliable managers - disorganized working style - below any professional standard

    Advice to Management

    - hire the right people - too much chaos Be cost-saving when it comes to major issues. Try not to save money on insignificant things. It shows that you are cheap. - Keep your promises. If confidence is lost, all is lost.

You can learn new technologies if you are a beginner, there are some trainings.

    Cons

    1. Non-professional inadequate management. 2. The majority of the projects are working on the out-dated technologies. 3. Low possibility of career growth. 4. Administrative staff is closed for clarifying issues. 5. The budget for team-buildings is scanty 6. Big gap in salaries for the managers versus the developers. 7. Salary reviews are not done in time. Salary is given on a completely subjective scheme. 8. Often you have to work more than 8 hours a day 9. Low salaries comparative to other companies
