    Pros

They go above and beyond on training and making sure the customer is first!

    Cons

For one team stores the pay is less than desirable. You work twice as hard for not as much pay as the regular stores.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No one is saying you have to be on the same page, but at least get in the same book.

    Pros

The pay, 20% off parts, too bad I don't buy aftermarket parts!

    Cons

Uneducated customers that want smell like urine and have no idea what there talking about, managers that request you to mop the floor instead of getting real work done, under staffed, company is collapsing in on itself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more people! Pay less so layoffs like me are prevented

I have been working at Pep Boys full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Benefits are good, General Manager position allows a lot of autonomy to make decisions.

    Cons

Retail side of business is going to bankrupt company. Significant negative sales trend over last 8 years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Retail and Commercial side of business needs to be sold off. Focus on service side of business.

I worked at Pep Boys part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people I worked with were great. I made some really great friends. Quite flexible with hours. They were very accommodating with the work hours and scheduled around my classes while I attended college.

    Cons

Chances of getting a decent raise are slim unless you suck up to the management. I received a cumulative raise of a meager 55c while working there for 4 years. No worker at the company seemed interested in furthering the company's interest. Which is understandable seeing how unappreciated we all felt.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Properly reward your employees and give some decent incentives to provide good service.

I have been working at Pep Boys full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Work close to home, like my co workers, get discounts on a lot of things I use frequently. Did I say close to home?

    Cons

Thrown into job without proper training, long hours, micro managed, when you have a single bad sales day everyone's calling you and treating you like crap

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about your employees not shareholders

I worked at Pep Boys full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The pros are great coworker, reasonable hours and a great location. I was given the tools to do my job well and had great managerial support overall.

    Cons

Its an old boys club. Its hard to get promoted even when doing great work and receiving praise. I left because there wasnt a midlevel position above mine. I would have had the same job forever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more open to allowing employees top advance that arent your chums.
