    Pros

Working under the supervisors is a great experience and is possibly one of the other departments where you'll feel like you're not only a part of the team, but are also an active member of the decision making team. It definitely pushes you during the busy parts of the year, but summer times can be pretty light and boring/relaxing. All-in-all, i learned a lot and the supervisors and were so supportive as i was deciding on my career goal upon finishing my program.

    Cons

Minimum wage doesn't make you want to actually work as hard as you should since you may be doing full time work,

    Advice to Management

Be flexible and willing to speak up when you have ideas.

    Pros

IT is a fantastic place to work. Work is challenging and there is a lot of it. There is some schedule flexibility, and a lot to learn in a wide variety of fields. The management genuinely care about you and are very effective at what they do. The team works well, and people genuinely leave happy.

Note: There is another review about this job below. It is entirely made up and untrue. Technologies analysts are full time positions only, and the analysts working there have all worked there for over one year, which is contrary to the review listed below.

    Cons

One of the biggest issues with IT is that it doesn't have a good path for promotion. In a support based role, this leaves very little room for growth.

    Advice to Management

Senior Management should help IT staff better pursue career paths they are interested in, encouraging management to take the steps necessary to empower employees to accomplish this.

    Pros

Great experience with great people. It's a good opportunity to get a feel for many different areas of accounting and finance

    Cons

It's a desk job, so if you're looking to spend a lot of time moving around and such during the day then you'll be disappointed.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Things were pretty great from what I can remember so just keep on doing what you're doing.

    Pros

Some of the people are genuine and want to help students and others. The Malibu view is beautiful.

    Cons

If you aren't part of the Church of Christ, and a Caucasian male, it is difficult to fit in and advance.

    Advice to Management

If you hire people for their expertise, try listening to them and the culture surveys you administer.

    Pros

Great upper management, you can almost choose your own schedule, not so much work

    Cons

One of the biggest con is the team leader at WLA, he has all the technical skills one needs but zero social skills

    Advice to Management

Be more firm, and try to have more training for team leaders to work on their social skills

    Pros

The first few years working for this institution was great. Exceptional staff, faculty and student interactions. A place where you can be a part of and contribute to the success of your department.

    Cons

Most activities and departments are in silos. Little to no cross-function activity which greatly hinders making this institution top notch.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent. Poll and listen to your staff regularly. Top-down decision making is ineffective if staff, faculty and students don't feel respected or feel they have no voice. The overall climate is desperate for inclusion and positive influencers.
