    Pros

Great on the job training opportunities for marketing managers, exposed to a broad range of experience in just 4 years' time.

    Cons

Lots of "hallway" conversations that align priorities without the entire team to provide input. Marketing tactics are stuck in 1995. Difficult culture for promotions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Enable your employees to make decisions and reward those who do outstanding work. When a position opens up a level above, consider promoting versus bringing in an outsider.

    I worked at Pepperidge Farm

    Pros

The work-life balance is great with half-day Fridays all year long. I enjoyed the culture and the smaller feel of the company. Everyone is hard working and collaborative. Corporate headquarters also has a great location in Norwalk, CT. At Pepperidge, co-ops have the opportunity to lead their own projects and take them as far as he or she can.

    Cons

Non, in reference to the packaging co-op program.

I worked at Pepperidge Farm full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay; Everybody below plant management is in this mess together, if that's a "Pro?" Camaraderie in the trenches; A donut for Halloween.

    Cons

No work-life balance - just like every other publicly owned company where market return is the only metric; leadership is non-existent, just a bunch of CMA managers; managers know only what they read in books. have no real work, management, or technical experience; really long-time employees think they know it all, not open to constructive change. Top management thought moving the cheese would be a motivator; Top management can't lead, so they throw a motivational book at you. Top management.......
It's miserably hot in the summer, the equipment is 40-60 years old, the plant is a dying cash cow for the company. Benefits are very costly to the employee and have risen double digits percentage for several years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out why all the good people have left for better pay, better working conditions, and better leaders.
