I have been working at PepsiCo Canada full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The managers and senior leadership put so much time and energy into developing employees. The training is very comprehensive, engaging, and thorough, and you can advance several times faster at PepsiCo than in other companies. As an HR professional, my business partners especially in Sales see the People agenda as the key strategic driver for sustained growth, and they treat their HR partners that way.
For worklife ballance, managers and partners are flexible and trusting. It has been easy to accommodate everything I've needed to.

    Cons

The pay is low for the labour market, and you generally need to move a few times in a successful career. Don't expect a 40 hour work week either--it's fun and competetive, but definitely not banker's hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

With the rise of Milenials and Generation Z, multi income families are becoming the norm. Either align your pay strategy or talent strategy to the reality that most people cannot relocate because they depend on their spouse's income, and most spouses make more than PepsiCo employees. Consider virtual positions or flexible bases so employees don't have to move as much, or services for finding new employment for the spouse.

I worked at PepsiCo Canada full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great leadership development programs. New grads can expect to have high levels of accountability and empowerment.

A team based environment with great people to work with.

Constant change leads to new and interesting work.

    Cons

Fast paced culture. Be prepared to be accountable to deliver results and work at a fast pace.

More and more centralization of strategy on the U.S. Is driving less autonomy in Canada.

    Fast-paced, good challenge

Former Employee - Merchandiser in Ottawa, ON (Canada)

I worked at PepsiCo Canada part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

You get to work independently in stores. Easy going with work availability for part timers. Fairly good pay to start and also get travel allowance for driving between stores.

    Cons

Work load can be very heavy, sometimes requiring long hours to finish serving stores. Store managers may take out their frustration with lack of service on you since you`re one point of contact in stores.

    Pros

Great environment, everyone is friendly and acts like a small family.

    Cons

I find for the amount of hours and work I put in, did not seem I was getting paid enough.
    physically demanding with no help.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more merchandisers rather than putting to much load on one or two for a whole town.

I worked at PepsiCo Canada full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Health benefits available at org

    Cons

No worklife balance, management does not care about employees long term health in the organization. Many exceptional employees are being overlooked and promotions depend on who you know in the organization that can tweet up the ladder. The corporate culture of employees are going downhill and workers don't even want to speak with each other - just day in and day out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop reorganizing the company

I have been working at PepsiCo Canada full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, wages, ability to have a voice, ownership in what we make, great people to work with and for.

    Cons

sometimes the hours are long, increase in some of the benefits; i.e. orthodontists

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let the people that make your product have a say in how your product is made. People have a great care in what they do and what they produce and their voice is sometimes never heard. There seems to be hierarchy at this plant and that does bring others that work there down,
