I worked at PepsiCo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The compensation is decent and there are a few good benefits, but very little else to look forward to in this company.

    Cons

Constant erosion of benefits, long hours, no family life, hostile work environment from management with little to no support. Management does not take responsibility when things don't go right and is very quick to blame lower level employees. Promotions to a higher position are very rare.

    Advice to Management

Stop giving yourselves large bonuses at the expense of your front line employees. Be more loyal to those who are loyal to you.

I worked at PepsiCo as a contractor

    Pros

Pay was the number one thing. Friendly staff (all departments). Working part-time for the amount you make was incredible. Flexible work schedule. Management works with you.

    Cons

Was supposed to be set up for success but, much to my disappointment, the "mentor" was setting me up for failure. The "mentor" was more concerned about talking about X-Box games, rather than fulfilling training expectations. Very disappointed.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with the employee and ask for specific feedback, rather than asking how things are going. You gotta be very specific with your questions, rather than asking general questions.

    Pros

If you want more then job but a career Frito-Lay offers oppertunties for all. Must have your own goals and be able to go in the direction, forcasts and goals the team is going. Not afraid to ask for advice or help and be able to help other team members. Pay and comp. is high compared to like industries. (Retired after 30 years and have no regrets)

    Cons

Must not be afraid of hard work or long hours. If you do not enjoy working with people or as a team Frito-Lay would not be for you. Must learn to balance work with family. (sometimes its best to shut it down and go home.)

    Advice to Management

Management has always been superior compared to other companies. In the past sometimes you forget to hit the overload button.
