I worked at PepsiCo full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You'll get recognized for your successes, proper training for areas you want to focus on, a great work-life balance, and plenty of opportunity for career advancement. Competitive pay, excellent benefits including medical, dental, short term and long term disability, and vision plans.

    Cons

They merged with Pepsi Co in 2010 and laid off a number of people in their Schaumburg, IL office when the centralized function of Finance and A/R moved out of state. I have heard rumors that this resulted in a much more automated credit hold system which has in turn caused loss of customer base of the smaller businesses that are struggling and now go to other sources for product.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring back the Schaumburg office for centralized Finance. I can't tell you how much I miss that place.

    Cons

Management is lacking. They have an attitude of getting their job done without the concern for safety of the employees.

I worked at PepsiCo full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

FLNA is an ever changing environment and sincerely looks to develop it's personnel. They are interested, fair and involved in many external activities.

    Cons

Management can be a very small world. While some managers are spectacular so there are also those - for whatever reason - that are continually promoted and have little or no management skills. These managers are "out for themselves" and affect (yes, affect) personnel accordingly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Choosing good managers is a skill, it should not be left to personal preference as is often the case. True development of the right people - such that they value ALL personnel - and what they bring to the table is often overlooked.

I have been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Very diverse and talented pool of employees that are all very passionate about what they do. There are many different career paths and opportunities for advancement across the divisions. PepsiCo is a "fun" company to work for because they are connected with their consumer on so many levels - music, art, media and sports just to name a few.

    Cons

The hours make it impossible to achieve balance with your personal life. Antiquated systems and internal processes slow everything down reducing essential time with customers. Minimal improvement in the last few years does not provide an optimistic outlook for improvement in work/life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to improve internally driven processes to reduce administrative time and free up time for customers.

I worked at PepsiCo full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pay starts around $14/hr. The work is physically tiring but comes with no mental stress.

    Cons

The hours depend on the work load. The hours vary from 25 hrs to 50 hrs a week. There is little room for career progression in the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Become proactive in cultivating leaders.
