I have been working at Percepta full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Company has a great benefits package that goes well beyond insurance. Absolutely love all the discounts on just about everything. People are nice and friendly and work to give many opportunities for advancement. Management has been very honest about programs and business operations.

    Cons

Company sometimes can't control what they have to do because of their various contracts and client requests but management has been forthcoming on what is upcoming and fights for best actions; sometimes successful, but sometimes not. Pay could be a little better but when coupled with benefits, can't complain all that much. They can be sticklers about stupid things, but again, what corporate culture isn't that way sometimes.

A Classic Autocratic Organization That Brainwashes Its Employees Into Thinking It's "Hip" and "Democratic"

I worked at Percepta full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The connection to a Fortune 50 corporation, Ford Motor Company (Percepta's essentially a minority-owned subsidiary of Ford created to manage Ford's call centers), and qualifying for the A/X/Z plan.

You're allowed to accrue up to 80 hours per year in vacation time, which isn't bad at all for a call center.

    Cons

Limited Promotion Opportunities - If you don't have a college degree or management experience, don't expect to get promoted beyond a call center agent, at least not for a long time.

Favoritism - The few promotions that do come about only go to family members and the manager's facebook friends, despite creating the illusion (for legal purposes) that they're merit-based.

Good Ol' Girls Network - Most of the front line and middle managers are females who base their decisions only on whatever certain type of emotion they're feeling at that time. If you're a man who wants to be a part of an organization where they can advance in their career, don't work here unless you want to be hung by your balls for threatening their female hierarchy.

The Medical Benefits Are Poor - The only insurance plan they offer is, more or less, a catastrophe plan. As someone else aptly put you, you better pray you never truly get sick. After paying a ridiculously high deductible before the coverage kicks in, the coverage only lasts so long.

Extreme Micromanagement - Management apparently thinks that a mindless process has to be put in place for every single procedure (even something as simple as going to the restroom) and punishes anyone who dares try to think for themselves. It's also the only call center I know of that punishes an agent who says "bye-bye" to a customer versus "bye."

Upper-level management is never seen or heard, but only spoken of.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want to keep your good and top-performing employees, reward them with higher pay, more opportunities for training/mentoring/advancement, and benefits, not just more work. Otherwise, the revolving door of talent to other employers will simply continue. Understandably, this costs money and everyone (individuals and businesses alike) is spooked about spending money in the wake of Michigan's economic collapse and the Big 3 automakers going bankrupt, but expecting your good and top-performing employees to remain loyal just for the sake of remaining loyal when you're not recognizing them appropriately is not going to get it.
