I worked at Performance Contractors (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pays pretty generously, work at a good steady pace, good competent people in leadership positions

    Cons

Lack of English speaking leadership, out of date equipment and then when it breaks wondering y the equipment is dwn , to much safety. Saf t ey is important bit when safety starts running a job it hard to make up positive progress toward finishing the project

    Advice to Management

Less safety more production and run the non refinery jobs like non refinery jobs and refinery jobs like refinery jobs bc the non has a lot less safety therefore should have a lot more progress and or job completion to make up the revenue deficit caused by all the dwn time in the refineries

I worked at Performance Contractors full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The best reason was because they always cared about the workers and they all work together they have task planned out and always had safety meetings

    Cons

There was really no downside to performance contractors because if you feel like somethings not say or you don't feel right you just let someone know when they'll help to make everything right and safe

    Advice to Management

The management is great they always give the workers credit for being safe and they always have safety meeting and they really care about the workers

I have been working at Performance Contractors full-time

    Pros

Lots of helpful, nice people that go above and beyond everyday. Supervisors are easy to talk to. Good benefits, and lots of opportunities to move around if you are willing to put in some extra work.

    Cons

Communication could use some improvement between certain departments. Moving people at the last minute to job sites is very common.

    Advice to Management

Continue to treat employees as individuals even as the company grows.

I worked at Performance Contractors full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This job has a lot of overtime if you are willing to go and work. You can really learn a lot if you are trying to get into plant work. They give people with a criminal history a chance. (Case by case basis)

    Cons

The benefits this company offers are not good at all. Industrial cleaning is really a nasty job very physical job because of this there is a high turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of employees that really dedicate themselves for the better benefit of the company. Taking the risks that I took I should have had better insurance, 401k, direct deposit, etc basic benefits that similar employers offer.

I worked at Performance Contractors full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Performance Contractors provides Job security for their regular journeymen and their friends and families. The company has plenty of work on the road. Making money.

    Cons

This company hires family, friends, and associates over more experience journeymen. Superintendents will hire people for favors such as fixing their tickets. The company only offers growth for individuals in their click or are associated with green county. Women folk are able to move up using sexual favors. A number of its local supervision have drug issues. When Performance does not have work and you have to work for another company, Performance's supervision want rehire you unless you take a lesser position. For instance, a superintendent or General Foreman having to take aForeman position or working on their tools. Performance will lay you off and transfer a regular hand into your position, so don't get comfortable close to the end of the job. If you get hurt on the job, you can return to work after you are released from your doctor, but they will let you work a week then after that, they will lay you off.

I worked at Performance Contractors full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None, their are none as far as I am concerned.

    Cons

I left my job to come to work for them. They have you do a physical when you come to their location here in Iowa. And I did not know that I had high blood pressure. They will not let me go to work until the meds start to work which is 3-4 wks if not longer. So they want me to set here for that long with no money coming in. And all the cost for me to be able to stay here to wait for the meds to work. Ain't gonna happen.

    Advice to Management

Need to do physicals before people quit their other job and lose everything!!!
