I have been working at Performance Food Group full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good starting salary, independence, no 2 days are ever the same. Selling quality products at a fair price. Overall friendly people.

    Cons

Confused leadership, your on your own once you begin commissioned sales, benefits are slipping downhill. District Managers are caught in the middle.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Office workers are generally too comfortable and not helping the sales staff as much as they should, but maybe due to the upper management.

I have been working at Performance Food Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Coworkers are generally good people! There is sometimes free good food available! Benefits are pretty good and a chance at a yearly bonus is always nice.

    Cons

The bad "corporate" culture. Pile as much stuff on you as possible to try and find your breaking point. Not much room for advancement in my position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Chill out and realize there is only so much a person can do!

    Cons

low pay, night work, work every holiday so never home with family on those special days and bonuses suck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

take into account of the feelings of employees. don't take for granted those whom have dedicated themselves to making sure this company continues to rise and flourish. Pay people what they are worth.

    Pros

Good benefits and potential to earn good money.

    Cons

Very hard physical work, and limited family time. Even if you have free time/ day off , you are too tired to enjoy it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat us as if we are humans and that we matter, along with our families.

I have been working at Performance Food Group full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Company as a whole, attempts to show appreciation with lunches and contests. Accumulated vacation days. President holds monthly meetings to discuss state of the organization.

    Cons

You are worked extremely hard and reminded of your position. Make an error, you may wind up being written up. Office staff is inadequately compensated; when all get raises under $1, there is an extreme issue. Office wages are completely unsustainable. You are required to cover when people are out and be done by 5PM; this company frowns on overtime. Three holidays a year; Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years a real problem with family. If you work in Finance, you will be required to be in on Saturdays when necessary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a good look at your office staff and consider the wages they are being paid. Most people are respectful; however there are those that need to invoke a bit more tact and kindness.

I worked at Performance Food Group full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The only pros in working there was everyone but the marketing manager. Everyone but her was entirely gracious and friendly.

    Cons

Who I had to work under, was an ego crazed, minical woman. She treated most people in the office like they were stupid, and like they were not human. She even told co-workers "not to be cocky, but I am the only one who can do this job". If that is not cocky, I don't know what is. They lie to you about it being a temp to hire position, and they never keep any one after their yearly food show because she doesn't want them. They will call you on the phone, which is tacky, and break the news to you. You will work a lot of overtime for menial tasks that are not what you signed up for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat people like human beings instead of only caring about salaries. Messing with others livelihood and not being able to explain to the workers face that you never planned on keeping them, at the last minute after they worked very hard for you is entirely unethical.

    Cons

lies lies lies ,,if u don't mind being a number and payed little money and busting your butt, and dispatch don't have aa clue and tells u to run illegally there r no cons,,,then again the only con is it's a job

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

drivers r people too make dispatch accountable for their mistakes and don't take it out on the good drivers u have let leave with great records no incidents at all

I have been working at Performance Food Group full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Management teams listens and they are flexible. Management is knowledge about the company and care for their employees. Cheap lunch that is great. A lot of employee engagement activities. One on One review with manager. If they have concerns, they will let you know upfront in a mature way. Co-workers are kind and everyone respects each other. Policies are clear as well.

    Cons

Learning and promotion opportunities are slow for some and fast for others. There are some in office “cliques” and everyone always does not feel included.
