I worked at Pernod Ricard full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Incredible growth opportunities, entrepreneurial spirit, systematic personal development program, impressive benefits, great work environment.

    Cons

It's a very dynamic company, with a lots of acquisitions but also selling companies, brands and business units. You might be doing great in a business unit and will find out that was sold and now you work in a different environment. The top jobs are reserved for French executives (especially in Finance, as CFOs) or to a very small group of individuals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A dynamic company is a delight to work for, but the thinking about loyal employees overseas will be good from time to time when it's time to dispose a company. It's not just the French employees that matter, but the rest of them too. At the end, it's a global company. With Mr. Patrick Ricard (RIP) the company was very supportive of their global employees, not with Mr. Pringuet, it seems like the other way around.

I have been working at Pernod Ricard full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

HR benefits are excellent. Good healthcare coverage, dental, vision, education reimbursement and 401k,. Additional health benefits for gym as well as wellness seminars. There is an excellent culture. The people are great to work with.

    Cons

As many companies, the experience directly relates to your division. Some areas are very flexible for work life balance while others are not. There are no official work from home policies. Re-organizations are common.

    Pros

I like this marketing-driven company. It has big marketing budget to offer. It is also a decentralized company. I like working there very much !!!!!!!!!

    Cons

I can't find any yet since my short time there.

I have been working at Pernod Ricard full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The fiscal compensation is near average for the area, but not exceptional. The facilities and work atmosphere are clean and up to date. Product allotment is fair.

    Cons

Work life balance is difficult to maintain. There is a very large, unstated, push to work many hours of overtime for salaried employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A little bit of positive encouragement goes a long way, and is worth the time.

I have been working at Pernod Ricard full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Very entrepreneural environment. Incredibly interesting industry. At its core this a marketing company. A high value is placed on creativity. This is however a strong focus on responsible marketing of beverage alcohol products. Having fun is a part of the business culture.

    Cons

The company is still "growing" into its status as a major player in the industry. Most of the outward faciing elements are in place and working well - sales and distribution strategies. Marketing which is key to growth is some what less dynamic compared to competition.

I have been working at Pernod Ricard

    Pros

Amazing brands, the most comprehensive portfolio in the industry, good benefits, competitive salary, convivial, and of course the Les Embiez experience

    Cons

Pernod Ricard has the potential of being the industry leader but, despite having the most iconic brands, is unable to grow organically. This is because:
    1. Given the nature of the industry it should be a great place for marketing talent. Unfortunately that is not the case with key marketing talent being routinely side-lined. For example the person heading Marketing in Paris was from Finance and has now been replaced by a career commercial person despite the availability of great marketing talent
    2. Career advancement is all about who you know in Paris, your nationality (being French is great) and your functional expertise (Finance/Audit)
    3. Resulting from the above French is the default language. The most extreme example is the PR Americas office in New York where French is the language spoken almost all the time
    4. Most country CEO's are French while outstanding local talent is side-lined
    5. Things could change with a new CEO early 2015 but even he seems to be favouring managers from the business he previously headed (see point 2 above)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pernod Ricard has the most amazing set of brands and very talented and passionalt people. But despite this it has not been able to grow its business organically (growth has come only through acquisitions). Please promote the talent available strictly basis merit and you will see the magic we can do.

I worked at Pernod Ricard full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Strong corporate identity, strong marketing campaigns and corporate communications, opportunities for lateral moves and to work internationally. Good Xmas parties and corporate events.

    Cons

A lot of favouritism evident (to the point of being completely unfair at times) however if you are part of the 'club' a lot of doors can open. Expectation that work comes top of your list of priorities, even family engagements, very little flexible working, no home working allowed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember you have people working for you rather than just numbers on a balance sheet....

    Pros

The benefits are good and above the law. Young people work overthere and therefore it is a young company. The presence of Pernod Ricard it ´s global.

    Cons

The salary it ´s not ok. The unique core are the marketing departments , leaders dont care about other departments . There is not carreer at all. The leaders dont care about the local brands.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There´s not personal growth at all. Company values are feak.
