I have been working at Perot Systems (Less than a year)

    Pros

There was too much infighting, back bitting, and management that was very heavy handed with the employees. It also looked like downtown New Dehli with all of the Foreign guest visa workers from India that flooded that place

    Cons

The management was mean and under handed, abusive and did not treat the employees with respect or anything else. It was not a good place to work and I would not recommend working there if I were you.

    Advice to Management

Start treating your employees better and treat them like human beings instead of using them to pit them off against one another. I know there were quite a few people that left that place because they could not stand all of the internal issues that were taking place there on a regular basis.

I have been working at Perot Systems full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Support for remote work is great. Ability to jump around to different teams in an account is great for getting "meaty" bullet points on a resume.

    Cons

Job stability can be unpredictable due to the nature of contract work. Depending on the account, the number of positions may shrink or grow. Lots of rules and policies. Promotion can be difficult because of budget cuts. Sometimes the only way to get promoted is to apply internally to open positions. Over the last decade or so, I've watched many of the smaller Dell Services office close down. This is partly because of Dell cutting costs, but also because of shrinking account business.

    Advice to Management

Focus less on policy and more on fostering an environment for creative and innovative employees.

I worked at Perot Systems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I gained a lot of experience for the 6 years I was there.

    Cons

The organization constantly dangled a carrot in front of you to do more work but they didn't want to pay. During review time if you got a new position shortly before review time they would only review you based on your new position and you would be marked inadequate. There were no real opportunities to grow just do more work.

  7. I had a good time while I was there (There is no option to go back further than 2011 while selecting last year at work).

I worked at Perot Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Back then (2006-09) the management was cool. It was one of the most reputed and feel-good places to work at.

    Cons

I am not aware of the work-environment after the takeover of Perot Systems by DELL

    Advice to Management

The chief strength of Perot Systems was the work satisfaction and smooth running professional life. Try to keep it that way.
