    Pros

Some HGV work. Nothing major. You may get paid. You may not!

    Cons

Will book you for weeks then cancel you at a moments notice and not pay you. Even if you make it clear that you already had work elsewhere. This is not a game. It's peoples lives, mortgages etc you are messing with. If you contract someone (verbal or written) you are obliged to pay. Even if it's your main contract that has backed out last minute. It's not the Drivers fault or problem but you make them pay the price.

    Advice to Management

Get stuffed. You & your company care only for yourselves. Truck Drivers are just an bum on a seat. Stop filling them with crap.

    Pros

Really cannot think of anything unless you have been with the company for a minimum of 5 years.... You then can sort of match the external benefits to some start up recruitment agencies

    Cons

Very low basic pay, sick pay, maternity leave, bonus/ comission and holiday allowance
Expected to work outside of office hours daily, this is the culture of the company- 1 person doing 3 peoples jobs.
Little budget and perks for staff - outside of managment
No development unless you are based in the midlands where the Head office is
Managed by people who have bene with the company for over 15 years, little innovation or knowledge of the external recruitment market
Little or no training for new starters
    Low emploee retention
Like going back 30 years in recruitment and the systems they use

    Advice to Management

Pay more and value your good staff.
Get new and fresh senior managment- out with the old!

    Pros

    They support you 100%
Deal with any enquires you may have
Find you work asap and will supply work near enough every day
    Friendly bunch of staff
Great potential - helps you move on further in a career you love

    Cons

Having weeks with hardly or no work
Dealing with staff members, managers etc
Having the ability to work together as a team
    Sharing ideas
Brings lots of challenges ( positive and negative )

    Advice to Management

Build the company allowing alot more opportunities to arise

Staff at pertemps to be slightly more welcome as some days you can walk in and it
can be dead silent which will make some people walk straight back out.

    Pros

The people are fantastic. It is a place that catches lots of people when they are on the up.

You gain a varied skillset and are given the chance to try lots of things.

    Cons

Low salaries and bonuses. The salary is on average £5,000-£8,000 lower than market rate.
    Non existent training.
Terrible work life balance because instead of hiring enough people to do the work well they hire bare bones with no experience give minimal training so that they are cheap.
Senior managers are told to not tell other employees about schemes such as shares etc.
Every year you work you gain a full day of holiday up to a certain point however in your last year your holiday is calculated the same as your very first year regardless the blood, sweat, and tears have gone into the company.
Company wide survey published in the newsletter mentioned all of the above and more yet the response from head office is looks at the results we have such nice people here, rather than address the negative points.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your staff.
    Pay people what they deserve.
    Invest training into your staff.
    Reward hard work.
