I have been working at Peter A Mayer Advertising full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great atmosphere, everyone is working for the betterment of the clients. The people are probably the #1 pro.

    Cons

Advancements seems pretty strictly based upon your time invested at the agency. The longer you're there, the more likely you'll be promoted. Also not very many training opportunities, employees often have to seek them out themselves and get it approved.

I worked at Peter A Mayer Advertising full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It was a good experience being there around so many like-minded people. It was a great place to learn and grow for so many years from so many people in different departments come from different backgrounds and years of experience, it was easy to absorb. It is so tough to find that type of experience.

    Cons

I was there for many years. Enough to see many cultural shifts. A lot of the cons seem summed to a disconnect between the upper management and everyone else, resulting in poor planning, saying yes to every client without parameters, working weekends too often, and a being pigeon holed into doing one thing only.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay people what they deserve. The compensate doesn't match the increasing standard of living in town. And if you're not growing you're dying.

I have been working at Peter A Mayer Advertising full-time

    Pros

The people are wonderful, and their hearts are in the right place. There is a lot to learn. There's a decent sense of camaraderie throughout the agency which definitely helps new employees feel welcome.

    Cons

Things can feel a bit haphazard at times, and the quality of experience varies between department and team. It's common to feel underpaid and stressed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure to take time to see if the employees are doing what they are good at and enjoy. There is a ton of hidden talent just waiting to be tapped. Little acts of appreciation go much further than grandiose impersonal gestures. Honesty is highly valued.

    Pros

Friendly, fun, flexible work environment. You can bring your dog to work. Everyone is very nice. Benefits package is good. You feel like your employer actually cares about you!

    Cons

The salaries aren't very good, but as far as agencies go, the hours are reasonable. It's somewhat difficult to move up.

I worked at Peter A Mayer Advertising as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Fun and professional environment. The Mayer brother are very nice people, who go out of there way to help employees. For a large company it is very close knit.

    Cons

As an intern, sometimes I had to go out of my way to find work. I also felt that I could have helped more, but being an intern limited my opportunity for contribution.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not allow job titles to limit creative expression or new ideas.

I have been working at Peter A Mayer Advertising full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Employees are creative, supportive, and were eager to help me improve. Culture and morale are excellent. No one who does not want to be, or does not deserve to be, is working there.

    Cons

Interning can be dull at times, but that's anywhere. Competition for jobs at this agency seems stiff.

I have been working at Peter A Mayer Advertising

    Pros

very creative and collaborative environment. relaxed and generally easy-going.

    Cons

initial offers and salaries are low. even if one moves up in the company and gets a raise each year, the initial salary one started with remains low in comparison to the workload and the value added to the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

get involved and conduct compensation surveys. i think you'll find out that employees are not that satisfied with their take-home pay.
