I worked at Petrofac (More than a year)

    Pros

I cannot think of none, i worked here without a manager and when a manager was finally hired (8 months later) I was harassed and micromanaged. I had to write down my where abouts EVERY DAY.

    Cons

The location is right next door to a cemetery. Your view is graves, and this job makes you feel worse about your life!

    Advice to Management

There needs to be management, they would not fire anyone until the company started suffering as it did not have business.

I have been working at Petrofac full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work-life balance is excellent. People are treated well and respectfully. Knowledgeable staff and leadership. A lot of growth potential. You can expect merit and performance-based promotions here. Intelligence and competence are expected and recognized. I've really enjoyed working here.

    Cons

Like any growing company there is some disorganization. The office dynamic can be political, but nothing serious.

    Advice to Management

Start thinking bigger.. PFC Houston is growing quickly.

    Pros

Colleagues were good to work with

    Cons

No strategy and opportunity to use the skills you have. Power is concentrated in the hands of the few and they clearly have no idea what they are doing.

    Advice to Management

Trust your employees. Stop hiring people in key positions that are not competent

I have been working at Petrofac full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Petrofac is doing EPC projects where you deal with vendor right from start of project till end & also you get little bit site exposure

    Cons

Work pressure is very high where you need to work properly & also meets client requirement of completion in short duration.

    Advice to Management

Employee should get reimbursement based on their talent & hard work which they are doing.

I have been working at Petrofac full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Only EPC contractor with main execution centre in Sharjah. Cost of living is reasonable in Sharjah and no tax in UAE so better savings.

    Cons

More work and less resources assigned which leads to working late on weekdays and working weekends on a regular basis.

    Pros

The company is a great place to get a feel for the professional world for the first time. It has a real "corporate feel" and the training program is well thought through. You get a chance to see what work would be like. The compensation is very fair, considering they pay for the hotel, laundry,... All in all their internship program is satisfying and very useful. The orientation, safety inductions, and other resources are all very adequate.

    Cons

There are some office politics that play a part in how far you go although this is being worked on by Petrofac (change in CEO). Also, in a corporation this big, engineers tend to work on very small parts of large projects, and this means that exposure can be minimal for a while. Also, your internship experience can have a lot to do with which department you are selected for.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest to make the internships a bit longer and have interns move around different departments.
