Pros
great exposure to change and the impact on staff
Cons
organization constantly changing making it hard to accomplish tasks
Pros
Good Training and compensation. Great entry level position with opportunity to grow for a while. Constantly trying to find new ways to do business.
Cons
This is no longer a salespersons job. Words are very scripted and creativity is no longer encouraged. Primary care continues to look like it will shrink due to lack of new products brought to the market.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop letting this company be ruined through HR and legal. People are afraid to do things that are within compliance because they are not sure. Salespeople are no longer sales people. Allow them to sell!
Pros
Benefits package, Compensation, Midtown Manhattan location
Cons
Lack of communication from management
Profits come first is now a not so subtle message- was not always so blatant
Advice to Senior Management
Pfizer should be more of a people company, less of a profit machine. It is a company that preaches values that it does not exhibit often enough.
Pros
Top benefits with best science and research access and openness to new technologies. Adequate resources for new projects.
Cons
highly unstable company..constant change in management and the organizational structure. Loss of patents for revenue generating drugs
Pros
People and pay are top in industry.
Cons
Losing patents and good people - constant downsizing is demoralizing talented workforce. Long history of doing right by employees has not been the case in last 5 years or so. The R&D is not that productive and the legal pitfalls have become numerous. A great place to pick up selling skills as well as management and leadership opportunities. Many Pfizer people in smaller companies are prospering from their experiences there.
Advice to Senior Management
Make drastic cuts and then allow the operation to grow again.
Pros
Good benefits, Great management, nice people, flexible work environment.
Cons
Pfizer is getting bigger and bigger by acqusitions. Needs to look into managements and streamline responsibilities and accountability.
Pros
Reaward initiative, effort, and a very strong emphasis on compliance and serving the interests of patients first and foremost.
Cons
With the downsizing of the whole pharmaceutical industry there have had to be some personnel reductions.
Advice to Senior Management
No particular advice. I feel they are on the correct track now.
Pros
Many opportunities to learn various tasks.
Cons
Extreme pressure to meet very aggressive timelines. Many coworkers ("colleagues") work regularly late into the night and weekends due to workload. We are told to "do more with less" and be "comfortably over-committed". Very low morale at entire site. Many have no pride in the company name.
Advice to Senior Management
The reduction in staff is too extreme - resulting in inefficient, substandard work. People given responsibilities far above pay grade.
Pros
Pay, benefits, management, work life balance
Cons
Instability, lack of products in the pipeline, too much outsourcing of jobs
Pros
Good Pay, Good benefits. Great time off.
Cons
Constant change, constant fear of layoff, constont realignment
