    Pros

Excellent systems, smart people, good training programs

    Cons

Talented contractors let go after 6 months, and a lot of good talent walked out the door. System redundancies.

    Advice to Management

Solicit 360 feedback from more employees in your division.

    Pros

Excellent introduction to corporate america and pharmaceuticals in general. Great opportunity to learn about various aspects of their IT department. There were weekly meetings to learn about management's role at the company, and how to succeed at Pfizer in the long term.

    Cons

You would meet with your manager weekly to discuss projects and goals, more interaction would have been beneficial. Assigned one project, should of been given more projects.

    Advice to Management

Strengthen student worker program, and begin to offer full time positions to best interns after completion of internships.

    Pros

    Great company, Great work environment,
Top Pay. All around best company I have ever worked for.
Always have loved Pfizer and the way they take care of employees.

    Cons

None that I can think of. Great company.

    Advice to Management

Pfizer Management should make the decisions who stays based on performance and production and not a contract agency.

    Pros

The management on both the technology and business sides are working towards mutual goals; communication may take several attempts however they do persist until everyone understands; there is respect for other ideas and contributions.

    Cons

There is too much work for the current staffing levels of employees and contractors - progress is slowed and there is more tooling up/down to be really efficient/productive.

    Advice to Management

Review the staffing levels with an eye to growing the next generation of technical experts now rather than later when it is always crunch time.

    Pros

I enjoyed the people, and there was plenty of opportunity to network and learn about all the facets of the company. The atmosphere was mostly informal, and I always felt my effort was appreciated. The on-boarding and training was satisfactory, and addressed all the hazards I would face adequately.

    Cons

The company feels very large and compartmentalized. If you want to see other business units as an intern, you need to put forth effort and speak out to make it happen. Especially interning in the sciences, you will never speak to anyone from the business side unless you go well out of your way to network.

    Pros

Good pay, good benefits, ability to work from home.

Organization changes often. If you don't like you're job, it will eventually change.

    Cons

No work life/balance - project managers openly state that working nights and weekends are built in to project timeline assumptions.

R&D organization changes so often that no one really knows the expectations of their own role or the roles of others on their team. This results in a lack of accountability.

    Advice to Management

Stick with a single org structure long enough to work out all of the kinks before moving on to something new.

Abandon your current outsourcing strategy. It is not working.

Remove the words "Work/Life Balance" from your recruiting and benefits literature. It is a lie.
