I have been working at Pfizer as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Compensation is good. The management does not micro manage the QC department.

    Cons

No benefits for temporary workers and company does not want to hire its temporary workers.

I worked at Pfizer full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

As far as biotech goes, advanced. Especially computer systems, documentation, trending, and OE

    Cons

Felt like a big corporation. You are just another number.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I worked at Pfizer full-time

    Pros

Decent benefits, nice severance package, nice campuses.

    Cons

Constant threat of job loss, depending upon your manager/department must be available via phone and computer to work after hours and on weekends. in short, they espouse work life balance but don't mean it. Overworked people hold up what you are on the line to complete leading to even more stress. Great place to learn how to stab people in the back, while appearing innocent, in order to keep your own job. Throwing people under the buss is an art form here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out how to develop new drugs and spend less time figuring out how to cut costs. Soon the costs will be down to zero along with the sales.

I worked at Pfizer full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Pfizer training was second to none. I still use things today I learned there as a brand new representative.

    Cons

Lots of bureaucracy. Not nimble to respond to market conditions. I was definitely a "number."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your customer facing folks before investing in high priced consultants who aren't close to the business daily.

I worked at Pfizer full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Really enjoyed my job prior to Pfizer's takeover. I think I would have enjoyed working for Pfizer if I had been hired by them but my job was slated for going away when the company bought us.

    Cons

Relocation was not offered nor would it have worked for my family. I don't believe this is always the case.

    Pros

Good vacation package compared to competition.

    Cons

Below average wages for non degree oriented workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Pfizer as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

A stimulating set of projects and challenges to solve. Management was supportive in providing guidance when needed while expecting individuals to achieve results and network with the project team, and others as needed, to solve issues. The pace of working interactively with contracted IT resources and the IT internal staff led to great results.

    Cons

I did not experience any cons. As I was leaving due to contract time limits, staff cutbacks were being announced.

I worked at Pfizer full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I learned alot from leadership, got my formal education paid (mostly) by the company. I was promoted to various positions that continually expanded my skill sets. Worked with great teams and really motivating, smart people!

    Cons

Unfortunately, when we changed a couple of CEOs, the company took a nose dive. If the senior leaders in charge spoke to people that worked for them, alot of terrible company direction decisions could have be averted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Meet with your teams that support senior leadership and ask their opinion on where the company direction should go.
