I have been working at PharmaNet/i3 full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Some of the co-workers are workign very hard and try to fill the blank management left.

    Cons

    1. Manager is un-professional and dis-organized. She throws workloads and deanlines around without proper instructions and time estimation. Put employees at very difficulty positions to deal with the due dates. While employee raise those issue to manager's attention, instead of estiamte and manage better, she would blame and yell at employees.
    2. Becasue of manager's mis-management, most employees had to work over 60 hours/week and hurt their backs by sitting in front of computer.
3.While management definitely want employee to work over time, they would imply it at meetings however not saying it straight in word to un-load their responsibility of put employee working over time. Very sneaky and in-considertae.
    4. Manger micromanage employees in trivial details instead of show respect. They watch if employee is checking their email every minutes so employee can't focus on doing their actual job.
    5. Too many urgent meetings which makes it impossilbe to focus on work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The worst manager should be fired.

A bit unorganized at the time of the merger

I worked at PharmaNet/i3 full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Was a learning experience, but had the potential to be so much more

    Cons

unorganized; hard to get onboarded and work accomplished;blending of employees from different companies was difficult at the time of the merger; some unprofession and immature individuals made it difficult for those of us who were not; this bad behavior was tolerated as these individuals produced good quality, on time and on budget work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

staff need to view each other as customers and some need to brush up on their customer service skills; even if do quality, on time and on budget work; makes it extremely difficult to work with individuals who do not have good customer service skills in terms of manners, communications skills (speaking-what say and how say it; and listening). At the end of the day people might not remember all of the details of the work but they will remember how you (as a company or an individual) made them feel, and as a result will want to have a repeat performance with you or not.

    I worked at PharmaNet/i3

    Pros

Team members and coworkers very enjoyable to work with. Teams worked hard to get work done and focused on quality and customer service.

    Cons

When company was sold to inventiv, I saw a marked increase in workload for myself and my team. This, plus a decrease in benefits affected team morale.

I have been working at PharmaNet/i3 full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Some good people at lower levels who are trying to work through and around the systems and processes

    Cons

SOPs are useless or contradictory. Hard to align US/non-US processes and tracking. Excel seems to be the default CTMS. IT support cut to the bone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We are told that people are the main asset of the company, but people are not being supported. Make a system we can actually use with SOPs and processes that support, rather than confuse. And quit using "wasted real estate costs" as a reason to penny-pinch everything. After 18 months, we should have a corporate culture, not just more talk about how one will be created "soon."

    Pros

None that I could think of.

    Cons

Training is not good. It’s the sink or swim. Horrible benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management appears to not get much training on how to interact with people effectively and compassionately. Management tends to be parental and micro-managing. Unprofessional management, unwillingness to help employees with issues and never responding to emails “being Ignored”. Treating employees like garbage. They overlook serious issue with
     another i3 employee.
