I have been working at Pharmasave Drugs part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Good for student's like myself, doesn't interfere with school.
Co-workers are easygoing and laid-back, I am comfortable around them. Always there in case I need help.
    Work itself is pretty mindless.
Technology is good, we have large touchscreen monitors for our cash register.

    Cons

Sometimes business can be dead, and time goes by slow.
Only 4h a week, or if I'm lucky every couple of months I get an 8h shift.
Lottery can be stressful and frustrating at times.
I find I can sometimes be taken advantage of or feel left out by senior employees. They happily chat with the pharmacist while I have to stay at cash alone, or they choose another student employee over me to assist them and tell me to stay at cash incase customers come.

Customers were number one for me. Developed great relationships with a lot of people.

    Cons

Heavy workload, no room for growth, no raises in over 5 years, no acknowledgment that you do a good job.

I worked at Pharmasave Drugs full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Pharmasave is a wonderful place to work, the people are kind and the company structure allows for a lot of freedom to do the job well and to a high professional standard.

    Cons

Training is a weak point, there used to be a standard training manual but it is no longer in use. As a result, training now varies from store to store and doesn't always meet the company standard of quality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be nice to see the computer system upgraded to a newer standard, integrated gift cards for example.

I have been working at Pharmasave Drugs part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

As my first job, I cant say a whole lot. I get the time off that I need for school and other activities, and I still get enough hours earn some money. The management is always kind and understanding, and just as a part time job for a few years, working with customers, though it can be frustrating, is sometimes nice. I have been taught and learned quick, and I can do many things expected of a full-time employee after a short period of time. With 3 student employees, there is plenty of hours to be had in a month, but not so much as to be overworked. Hours of 10-5 on weekends, 3:30-5:30 on school days and 9-5 on weekdays,

    Cons

Because of still being in school, I cant really say to much. But, from what I get, any sort of benefits, compensation, and bonuses are garbage. personally, the thing I hate most in my job is the cleaning, and sometimes, dead times of day. That gets boring fast.

I worked at Pharmasave Drugs part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

At this store, no reason - staff and manager showed disrespect in terms of the handbook mandate -

    Cons

From the start, I was ostracized and treated with a great deal of disrespect - behaviour meted out by staff, enabled, encouraged and practiced by the manager. Contrary to the handbook mandage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should not listen to gossip - nor be manipulated by staff who was abusive - could learn to be open to positive suggestions that could mean an increase in customer base and thereby have them return. Could learn to think outside the box - less display at to what will work rather than what will not work.
