I worked at Philadelphia Live Arts Festival as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly and inspiring coworkers, managers, and interns. Access to great and cutting edge performing arts.

    Cons

It could be very busy during the annual festival. Interns are unpaid but they can get free tickets to shows.

    Advice to Management

    Great organization.

  2. Helpful (1)

    disappointing desk job

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

being involved with an organization that promotes the arts but you rarely actually get to see any of that. yes, the interns got free passes to see the shows later on but no events went on to foster working together or getting to know each other.

    Cons

you sit in a room with hardly any windows given a job to do in front of a computer and that's that - not much talking or going on. not too much direction from the management staff. mostly left on your own which can be a positive but in this case did not provide for a vibrant internship experience. it was not a place i was excited to go to, in fact most excited when leaving at the end of the day though my eyes hurt at the sudden appearance of light that i hadnt seen all day. also, no one takes lunch so i did, i would be an outcast who doesnt work as hard but lunchtime, a little time away is necessary.

    Advice to Management

don't play favorites and not speak to your interns until you're unhappy with something.
