I have been working at Philips North America full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I feel like I am a valued member of my team. I know what is expected of me and I have the resources to achieve my full potential. I am a working parent and have never had issues with work-life balance. I feel well compensated which is also very motivating for me in many ways.

    Cons

They could use an onsite barista. There are soooo many people and the free coffee situation is not great.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you manage managers, be sure you're getting to know all of those people that report to your reports. It means a lot to people that they actually know their boss' boss. Otherwise any encounters can be nervewracking.

Cooperative culture for the most part

    Cons

Pick a direction and stick with it - no more flavor of the month initiatives

One of the better companies I have worked for, but not the best ...

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Philips North America full-time

    Pros

Very good co-workers, very good immediate managers, very good benefits, some of the technology that we use is state of the art and on the leading edge.

    Cons

Direction of the company does not seem to very well defined or conveyed to lower level employees and managers. Seems to be a push to streamline and make business more productive and profitable, but changes are being made that may not have been thought out before hand.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open the flood gates of communication, if you do not know something yet then state it. Do not try to wing it and hope that something sticks. Do not just talk to the non-management personnel, listen to what they have to say as well.
