Pros – Good place to work in regard to salary and benefits.
Cons – Very "Corporate", you fill a bit like a cog in a machine. Environment could be a bit depressing at times.
Advice to Senior Management – Humanize yourselves. There are more ways to show employee appreciation then just casual Friday

Former Employee – worked at Phoenix International Freight Services full-time for more than a year
Pros – Local support staff was plentiful, far more inside employees than most freight forwarders. Lots of hands lightened the load.
Cons – Corporate was family/freinds first mentality. There were no advancement opportuities for those outside of the corporate inner circle.
Advice to Senior Management – Be fair, look at all your employees, not just family members and close personal friends. There are a lot of great people there, let them show you their cababilities.

Pros – The staff is motivated to do a good job. They can build good relationships with customers.
Cons – Their is little to no support for new customers. Most operations people only like to work with existing customers. The staff is small and most are not willing to go the extra mile. Most of the operations staff feels over worked and frustrated with how the system is setup internally. The office moral is low. Their is much gossiping and hearsay which the general manager legitimizes rather than dispels. The sales staff is setup in a turn and burn format. The GM does not communicate expectations clearly but, holds you responsible for what they forget. Sales team is setup to compete with each other instead of support one another.
Advice to Senior Management – Take more time to develop your staff. Fix the sales team.

Former Employee – worked at Phoenix International Freight Services
Pros – Benefits and corporate office okay. Excellent training program and compliance department. As long as your working at one of the good offices, your okay, but Denver I would stay away from..
Cons – Favortism employed by GM to other employees. Export Supervisor very easily overwelmed and will openly critisize you in front of other employees. You will be required to work overtime to get the job done if your salary, if hourly you will be constantly pushed to the maximum. When your Supervisor is out of the office on vacation or out sick, you will be required to cover your desk and theirs without fail regardless of workload or you will be written up.
Advice to Senior Management – Some offices have great leadership on the local level, but the Denver office could use some restructuring. The senior managment is very professional and competent.

Pros – Pretty good pay. Decent executive level and senior management. Vacation time did begin to accrue earlier than some other companies. The corporate office did seem well organized.
Cons – Lower level management was not very qualified to perform their jobs. Vacation time allotment was not that great as compared to other companies.
Advice to Senior Management – Upper level management needs to keep better tabs on branch level management and supervisors. If the corporate culture of upper management filtered down, I believe things would improve.
