Pros – Flexible hours
Friday lunches paid for by company
Cons – Pay scales tend toward the low side, which is probably typical for smaller companies.
IT department is out of sorts... Frequently having to stop work due to server reboots.
Not a lot of opportunity for advancement. Once you've found a niche it's difficult to rise above that station.
Advice to Senior Management – Competent employees should be given more opportunities for advancement. Employees looking to take on additional responsibility should be given that opportunity when feasible.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
Pros – -No one notices when you're asleep.
-A dozen or so, competent, friendly people.
-Free lunch on Fridays.
-Can watch youtube all day or browse facebook for money if you want.
Cons – -Far too much micromanagement going on from all echelons of management.
-Pay is on the low side.
-Place is going belly up... No future for this place.
-Bonuses, which used to be frequent are no longer given (see above).
-No room for advancement. You may be able to move sideways into another position, but you'll never rise above the position you started at, regardless of talent or effort.
-Expect some backstabbing. Middle management routinely steals good ideas from employees and presents them as their own to superiors.
-Incompetent sales team and executive assistants.
-Ego... lots of big ego's. Not a lot of critical thinking or outside of the box thinking to warrant the attitude (mainly by middle management and owner).
-Middle management is afraid to rock the boat, so the the status quo is all you'll ever see.
-Forget your new, fresh, GOOD ideas... They're not interested in them here, which is why the company is in a hot mess now.
Advice to Senior Management – The theory here is that people rise to the point of incompetence. You're promoted, only until you reach a position where you can really do no one any good. Several of you have reached that point. Listen to your underlings... believe it or not, in some cases, they know more than you do about many things.
Pros – A great place to learn from very intelligent people
If you are motivated, there is a good chance you could work on some cutting edge projects
Great retention opportunities
Cons – If you don't have a 4 year degree, you are marginalized
Input from the employees falls on deft ears
Overtime abuse is rampant
Employees asleep in plain view
Teamwork is nonexistant except in small groups
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to your new youthful employees and think outside of the box. Encourage team building, it's the only way to meet our goals.
