Bad place to work

Technical Engagement Manager (Former Employee)
Los Angeles, CA

I worked at Photon Infotech

ProsThis firm does work for major clients, and getting exposed to these clients is the only positive I can think of.

ConsThe top down management style where the work force is not respected is both deliberate and antithetical to the manner in which I believe software should be delivered.

The disrespect that management has for their clients and servicing their clients’ needs is an embarrassment to the team that face the client, and who must constantly manage the lack of quality deliveries and slipped schedules.

The attempt to hide the repressive way that the team is treated fails, and the clients have a strong sense of an overworked, underpaid stressed out workforce. This makes for an awkward relationship between client and middle manager.

Because senior management’s style is abusive, and nasty, this style permeates the work force, who feels that normal risk management techniques will be ignored, and in turn become at the middle management level nasty and abusive to their workers.

The technology used while sounding 'sexy' and forward, is not well understood by the senior technical team, which leads to embarrassing deliveries with memory leaks, system crashes, and just plain bad user experience.

If you are unfortunate enough to work for these guys stay with safe web technology solutions and stay away from innovative approaches, as this firm can only fail here.

This company is micro managed by a pair of brothers who do not empower their senior staff to take risks or make decisions.

Good for Mobile Application Development

Mobile Applications Developer (Former Employee)

I worked at Photon Infotech full-time for more than a year

Pros- Good Projects in Mobile Application Development
- Technical Architect are really skilled. Lots of opportunity to learn from them.
- Less Politics in Developer Staff
- Good Package in Mobile Application Development and other demanding technologies

Cons- Worst Manager. Believe in ruling like HITLER
- Like other TAMIL based MNC. Sometimes Meetings are in Tamil and locals prefer to be in their group.

Great Company to start a Career

Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee)
Chennai (India)

I have been working at Photon Infotech full-time for more than a year

ProsI have been working here for 2+ years after my graduation and I have learned so much about technologies. The work culture is fast paced and hectic but rewarding. There is no minimum work cap for onsite unlike big IT companies which have a minimum 3 year cap. You get access to various devices like iPhones, iPads, Windows phone etc to work with. This is the place to be if you are crazy about mobiles and mobile technology.

ConsOverall they regard much for employee welfare as there are no coffee machines, cafeteria sucks also lack of any events of any sort or team building activities. Also there is no game rooms, atleast a TT table or Carrom Board should be there. Also Parking space is limited in DLF and it takes ages to find a parking.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere could be more Townhalls by top management and work on the Cons please.
