I have been working at Physician Practice Management Association full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Being self employed, you can set your own work schedule, and be there for your clients whenever they need you. You can, as well, be there for your family, whenever they need you. Working in an industry for so many years, you know your business and enjoy knowing that your knowledge helps others.
Cons – Getting paid as a consultant, you're not always a priority on any payment list. Although your work and efforts bring revenue and good results, you tend to be last on the list to be paid, or thought of as not a priority to be paid.
Advice to Senior Management – Always make a good solid contract and make sure that you are first on the list to be paid, as knowing that if not for you, some practices would surely fail.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
