    Pros

Good benefit but getting worst each year due to "budget" is limited.

    Cons

Nice people to work with as long as they are not managers. Nurses and doctors are praised as customers so they can't do anything wrong. Bonus and raise are a joke.

    Advice to Management

When you work on evaluation, you need to pay attention to what your team say. You can't make it there without your team who make less than you.

    Pros

Salary is good - hourly rate is good - some of the individuals you work with are team players - benefits are good - time off accrued is good -

    Cons

No room for advancement or transferring to another position/ department even if you are qualified

    Advice to Management

To stop talking at their employees/staff and talk to them - stop thinking we are beneath them

I have been working at Piedmont Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Clean, state of the art facility and equipment. Staffing adequate compared to many Atlanta Hospitals.

    Cons

Horrible hierarchy of staff. Doctors believe they are the all-knowing, all-powerful. Nurses are beneath them and any PA/NPs are just their assistants.

Not a good place for Advanced Practice Providers (PA

    Pros

Large healthcare system with challenging patients and situations. Given high turnover (which is bad) there are many areas for movement if you don't like your current area (good)

    Cons

Very poor treatment of PA/NP's overall it's like stepping back 20 years. Upper level management is grossly out of touch with the role of the PA/NP at present in the healthcare system. You cannot change code status, we were only recently allowed to pronounce death. You cannot park in "physician" parking like you can at many of the other healthcare systems around town. You are unable to enter the doctors lounge as a provider because you are not a physician, something extended to PA/NP's at other Atlanta area facilities. You are unable to gain access to the doctors dining room again another perk allotted to you at other atlanta area facilities. There is no APP council to allow for your voice to be heard. The term "Physician Extender" or "Midlevel" are still thrown around like they are the accepted terms for our profession. Benefits are mostly ok, the health benefits are a bit harsh, with in network deductible being $1500 and out of network deductible being $20,000 yes you read that correctly. CME reimbursement is very low @ $1500 for PA/NP's but MD's get $6000 yearly. Even Emory pays higher @ $2000 to their PA/NP's. Hourly overtime/extra pay is abysmally low @ $50/hr where you may be the only provider watching 100+ patients! It's a bit of a tattle tale environment. Managers tell you to "variance" other employees for even small infractions. Everyone on edge wondering when the next time they are going to tick someone off who will then go to HR or their manager. There is very little being an adult and working things out on your own. It feels more like you work to not get in trouble than to help get folks better.

    Advice to Management

Quickly restructure the way PA/NP's are treated, allow full scope of practice, realize the contribution PA/NP's provide to the patients at piedmont and realize we hold jobs once held exclusively by physicians and should be treated and paid appropriately for our contributions. Stop the tattle tale culture that is so pervasive at piedmont.
