I have been working at Piedmont Healthcare full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    I cannot think of any

    Cons

Piedmont has changed for the worse. In primary care, they are cutting doctor's salaries, making them work longer hours, and making them pay for their own health insurance ($20,000/yr for a family of 4). Piedmont made their own insurance plan that is sub-par (Piedmont Wellstar) with high deductibles. Piedmont is in trouble and is looking for ways to cut costs so the executives can get their bonuses. Piedmont used to be the epitome of great healthcare in Atlanta. Not anymore. With such a shortage of primary care doctors, you can do much better than Piedmont. Stay away!

Management and staffing are not as great as they always suggest. I'm not sure what to say about the management's involvement in improving staff's working conditions coz I didn't see much.

I have been working at Piedmont Healthcare full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

They have better salaries compared to other hospitals they compete with. They also have good benefits compared to some of their competitors.

    Cons

I don't think they involve their staff in their decision making. Staff are always complaining about proposed changes, and may be their reason for high staff turnover. Haven't seen a hospital that makes employees pay almost $30/month to use the gym while at the same time trying to promote employees health or acting like you're trying.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more staff and involve them in decision making.

I have been working at Piedmont Healthcare full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Hospital and Corporate locations are good

    Cons

    Outdated processes and systems
Ineffective and uncaring Human Resources department
Extremely high turnover, no stability with employees
Dissatisfied workforce, ready to go union as soon as possible

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop acting so shady and respect your employees
Executive leadership (aka C-suite) needs to be engaged with workforce instead of sitting in ivory towers and out of touch with employees
Increase staff loads. People are leaving because they are worked to the bone and there is no relief because there is no money to hire additional staff. This organization is supposedly about healthcare, but all people worry about is making money by tightening belts to bizarre levels.

    Pros

Training is not productive, no real structure

    Cons

You have to be a part of the Good old boy group or you don't really fit in

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to the people you have as Directors just because they have been around a long time. They really don't do anything but place blame on others when the fire is hot

I worked at Piedmont Healthcare full-time

    Pros

My position allowed me opportunities to interact with organizational leaders on a daily basis. My professional growth and development were supported by a strong education department as well as the Women's Leadership Development entity at Piedmont. If an employee wants to develop as a Leader, there are multiple opportunities at this organization to do so.

    Cons

The ever expanding size of the organization impedes efforts to develop relationships across the company. . Current efforts to re-organize leadership is affecting employee morale. Currently no effort is being made to help employees to remain connected.

I worked at Piedmont Healthcare full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Number of locations and different types of jobs available

    Cons

inflexible leadership with the introduction of onboarding private physician practices. The culture changed for the worse; demonstrated by a physician who was also an executive being escorted out of the building. No one listened to the employees, management or patients. Wont go back as an employee or even as a patient anymore.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
