    Pros

Easy to keep your job because they continue to give warnings and if you take a test or review and fail, they just keep retraining until you pass.

    Cons

Poor pay for the difficulty of the job, irate supervisors that always act inappropriately and unprofessionally, they hire people completely incompetent for the positions they have in the headquarters.

I have been working at Pinnacle Airlines full-time

    Pros

Pinnacle is typical of the regional airlines. It is a great place to start a career as they will hire people straight out of school. The experience you get in 121 operations is easily transfer
Able to other companies in the industry. There is almost always avenues for advancement which is also a great learning opportunity.

    Cons

You will never get rich working there. They have a policy of paying middle of the industry average for other small regional airlines. In fact, it is easier to to get a higher salary by leaving and coming back than through years of loyal service.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Honestly evaluate employees and pay them what they are worth to retain the talent that is hired. It would go a long way toward building a more stable and knowledgable workforce.

    Pros

Mesaba CEO is gone along with most of his senior staff.

    Cons

Management does not value personal time away from the Job. You are expected to work overtime at a whim. Salary can expect to work 60 hour workweeks and field phone calls and emails all hours and all weekend.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Watch what the VP's are doing. They are not viewing all angles to a problem only what they are comfortable with that includes employees. If you are not Mesaba you are on the outside.

    Pros

Days of that are not offered in corporate world - sometimes on reserve, I wasnt used. Major and only pro - I got to fly an airplane, which is what I wanted to do.

    Cons

People, management, salaries, junior manning, unorganized...mostly everything at the time. I hear they are however, cleaning up their act.

I worked at Pinnacle Airlines full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The job paid "okay" for Memphis and the amount of work that I did. I actually had free time to learn some new skills on the job and help other people who needed it.

    Cons

This airline was terrible, especially after 2008. Upper and middle management was a joke. There were a lot of office politics, unfairness, and general mistreatment of employees. I could see that some of the entry-level and lower level employees really getting screwed. Layoffs happened frequently. Pilots were treated poorly, but they kinda brought it on themselves because of their greedy, robot-machine union. I feel more sympathy for some of the ground workers and dispatchers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get an education. Learn how to type. Learn how to spell properly in your emails. Learn how to treat people properly. Don't think that yelling at people is an effective way to get them to work harder. Maybe find another profession.

    Pros

Being a flight attendant is a fun job and working with a fun crew is great.

    Cons

Pinnacle is shady about paying their employees and will do anything not to pay you. They will over work you, so you need your union by your side at all times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get Mesaba back!

I have been working at Pinnacle Airlines full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great coworkers, ok, 3 out of 5 coworkers are fun if you can take and give in the joke department. We are mechanics....high strung, highly rude mouthed but get the job done kind of people.
I work on aircraft. Aircraft people trust to go 35,000 feet in the air and not break apart. Everyday is a learning experience no matter how long you've been in the field.

    Cons

Recently took a paycut and had a hike in the health insurance department. Not for the faint of heart. Only thing worse would've been if the company didn't pull through bankruptcy and we ended up out of a job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spread the experience and "know how" out amongst all shifts and do not just stick the veterans on day shift early in the week. Pay the veterans a bonus to entice them to go to 2nd, 3rd shift or the end of the week.
