I have been working at Pinnacle Entertainment

    Pros

The staff is very diverse. They embrace the culture. The management staff has high expectations of the employees. They want everyone to succeed and grow within the company.

    Cons

The interview process could be embarrassing for some. Because all the candidates are placed in a room together. After the first round of interviews, if your name is not called for the second interview you have to leave, and everyone's watching you.

    Pros

Time-off policies, monthly celebrations, free beverages, parking garage

    Cons

Training, waiting period for benefits, no on-site dining

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When employees are hired, they should be given an idea of what their schedule will be, not made to go through a schedule bidding process that they know they will not be successful in. Direct management should address issues AS they arise, not waiting for months to provide this feedback to employees, especially when it is asked for by the employee.

    Pros

Benefits, vacation, I honestly can't think of anything else.

    Cons

Supervision, unfair treatment by management staff, talked down to by chefs, HR doesn't care about the issues on hand

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees when they come to you about an issue. Don't cuss them out and then expect everything to be hunky dory.

I have been working at Pinnacle Entertainment full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Some of the Pros for working at Pinnacle Entertainment revolve around wanting to be the best in the industry, benefits, discounts for team members, Core Values, and sharing stories of those who have excelled on a weekly basis throughout the company.

    Cons

Some of the challenges consist of working among different state gaming commissions, doubling in size but having the same number of people working at the leadership level and dealing with the intricacies of the database.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advice would be to think things through and ask for thoughts and feedback from front line team members when starting something new.

I worked at Pinnacle Entertainment part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

great employee dining room , most of supervisors fair and generally fun environment

    Cons

bidding for part time hours is ridiculous, when you where told full time hours were possible to obtain . take the computers off the sleeves of the floor walkers as the supervisors are running them from one end of the casino to the other for no good reason. Their is something called perfectionism and another called nit picky the last of my friends has left their employment due to unfair work scheduling

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

don't fib to a employee about tip amounts available

A company that truly values their Employees (i.e. "Team Mates")

I have been working at Pinnacle Entertainment full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Within the 6 months Belterra Park Gaming & Entertainment Center (Cincinnati, OH) has been open for business, several Teammates have been promoted. Pinnacle makes every attempt to hire people who support their positive "pro-customer service" culture, and grooms employees to move up the corporate ladder. In my experience, my immediate Supervisor and all the Directors are helpful, supportive, and open to dialog about ideas that will help Belterra Park retain a positive work force and ultimately grow business. Belterra Park is number #1 in customer satisfaction, that only comes with happy employees. Pinnacle is also very generous with PTO time - which is helpful for those who have families and unexpected needs. In all, Belterra Park is a great place to work!

    Cons

The compensation is not great. No doubt it is considered "competitive" with others in the Gaming Industry, but the one reason I have seen good people leave is because he/she simply was not making enough money. The health benefits offered by Pinnacle are very good - but benefits can take a good percentage of a pay check. And depending on what side of the River an employee lives, the taxes can be brutal. Kentucky state taxes are twice that of Ohio and that comes right out of your paycheck. This is no fault of Pinnacle, obviously. But with the current compensation structure making ends meet is challenging, regardless of which state an employee calls home.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Reevaluate the compensation structure.
