Pros
Nimble, tight-knit team enables faster decisions.
Entrepreneurial attitude to challenges and willingness to experiment, certainly in comparion to other established CPG companies.
Cons
Very lean staffing means that not everyone will thrive in this environment.
Fragmented office locations make communication a challenge.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to support the realization of interactive, high-performance teams, where team members are truly empowered to hold each other accountable -- the only way to work in such a lean, fast-paced setting.
Make video-conferencing the expected default for all inter-office meetings, so that field offices and the 2 HQ locations can communicate more regularly without unnecessary travel.
Pros
New office building is nice, and most people are friendly. Benefits are OK
Cons
Too many issues that no one wants to take on. Sr. Management doesnt seem to have a clue and are just waiting for their payout once Pinnacle goes public.
Advice to Senior Management
Try acting like you work for a $3B company
Pros
Some autonomy. Reasonably fair compensation. Some good people trying to do the best they can though over worked. Great legacy brands
Cons
Completely about maximizing short term return. Management has no interest in long term health of the brands or company. No investment in antiquated facilities. Corners cut where possible.
Advice to Senior Management
You really need to invest in the brands long term health. It looks like this is all about putting lipstick on the pig and unloading it before it caves in.
Pros
Like many of the real reviews have said, people people people. There are some really good people at Pinnacle that make it bearable. But a job shouldn't be "bearable" and that becomes a con. I wish I had more to say here. Trust me, "lean" is not a pro when everyone is so overworked to begin with.
Cons
Clueless HR department doesn't get how to keep the employees happy. (hint: it's not by coming to this site and putting in false and glowing reviews that honestly, all look like they were written by the same person)
All the good people leave the second a comparable job comes along. It's sad because no one is really happy because everyone is overworked and overstressed, while the powers that be seem to worry about everything BUT the people. Eventually this attitude filters down.
Advice to Senior Management
Employees are unhappy everywhere and I don't think there is a single person not looking for another job. Rather than peppering this site with fake reviews, why not fix what's making everyone so unhappy in the first place. The best way to a thriving company and environment is a good morale base. It really is that simple.
Pros
empowering! give you as much opportunity/responsibility you deserve. a place where strong performers excell
Cons
weak performers can't hide here. good because no weak links, but have cleaned house over past 3 years to get rid of weak performers.
Pros
Some real good people here, all caught in the same trap.
Salary is better than I find elsewhere for the same position.
New offices are nice.
Cons
Do not believe those glowing reviews, all written within the same week in July, that somehow all use the same phrasing and wording. Obviously they are fake.
There is no motivation whatsoever to go the extra mile. Mediocrity is rewarded and seniority is meaningless thanks to the revolving personnel door.
HR and management are clueless. Senior management are all waiting to go public so they can cash out.
Morale is bad in every department, which could be a pro too.
Too many meetings and red tape make me feel like I work for the government.
Advice to Senior Management
All the other reviewers say the same thing over and over, people people people!
Pros
There are a lot of smart and talented people at Pinnacle
I'm out of there - finally
Cons
I find it curious that all of the glowing reviews came right around the same two week period in July. I'm guessing that either someone in upper management wrote a bunch of reviews or a few people were influenced from a meeting that was held where a VP at Pinnacle asked employees to write nice reviews. How about treating employees well so that you deserve nice reviews?
A lot of those same people are also backstabbing, manipulative, selfish and cruel
Very unhappy place with lots of turnover due to the above
Management with a lot of intelligence, none of it emotional
Advice to Senior Management
Get over yourselves
Please treat employees as humans
Pros
Opportunity to take the lead on so many things you will not find in too many other companies. Ability for people at all levels to effect positive change. As the company continues to grow so do the career opportunities.
Cons
Trying to accomplish everything at once with limited resources. Taking on too many projects even if they are good ideas and well intended makes it difficult to give them the attention they require.
Advice to Senior Management
Rome wasn't built in a day
Pros
Fast, lean high performing culture. People and opinions valued. New R&D Center shows great committment to future growth through innovation
Cons
A very lean environment, but the proactive will thrive. Its a balancing game between spending smartly and using your intituion.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to invest in the company, as the comapny grows in sales the organization needs to grow with it.
Pros
Great brands and great employees with a terrific work environment. Corporate offices have been recently upgraded with brand new office space.
Cons
Since the organization is quite lean for such a large corporate company, management needs to figure out a way to improve the work-life balance.
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to show more focus on brand innovation. Management also has to improve the work-life balance for all employees.
