Very team focused and very motivating. Great feedback on what I could do better as well as what I was already doing well.

    Cons

Learning curve was kind of tough. I don't really have any other cons besides that.

    Pros

Usually able to procure replacement parts and supplies within days. Lower level management willing to look at new products and try other solutions

    Cons

Corporate management doesn't follow through on promises. Corporate IT won’t allow local management to make decisions on support. CIO made arbitrary decision to use “Dispatch model” for IT support despite recommendations and comments from people in the field. results in delay for service requests. When dispatched technician’s lack of knowledge on local systems causes more delays. Some support calls have gone weeks without solution to problem. These requests would have been taken care of by local support within hours if not minutes. Examples; Request to move telephone line on POTS system has gone 2 weeks without any resolution. Request for Support on a WIFI access point down has gone 2 weeks without solution. This requires a supervisor to leave the production area to order supplies and causes a CDC reporting terminal to be down. Request to replace wireless connection hardware took over a week. Technician was days late in arriving at location over promised dispatch date. When tech was dispatched it still required a call to old technician to get wireless setup.

    Advice to Management

Listen to local management. They are not isolated from the day to day.

    Pros

The only pros are dress down Fridays and early dismissal before holidays.

    Cons

This company buys old dying product lines, makes them even worse and then resells them in the marketplace to unsuspecting consumers. Just shameful.

    Advice to Management

    Get a life.

    Pros

Not many pros here. If you are an hourly employee, you at least get the protection of a semi-competent union with great union representatives that work with supervison to find mutually beneficial solutions to production floor-related problems. If you are a manager/supervisor - prepare to be overwhelmed with the production floor - there is no formal training procedures. You will be paired with another supervisor. Whether you learn anything whatsoever is up to you.

    Cons

If union/hourly employee - low pay, long hours during season, little communication, untrained/incompetent work force, seasonal pay is almost minimum wage, and NO health benefits until there for over 1 year. If supervisor or management - no respect or understanding of upper level managers (some did not realize how the process even worked in Imlay City), completely negative work environment, cases of violence and threats amongst employees, drug/alcohol abuse amongst employees (this was the most serious problem when I left), unfair treatment amongst supervisors, serious nepotism from the front office all the way to the warehouse, and serous lack of courtesy/respect for work/life balance. Middle level managers are expected to respond to calls (AND TEXTS) during off hours. You are targeted for termination if you do not conform to this type of culture.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up - Vlasic will be shut down in no time at all.

    Pros

Sr Management are sharp folks. Know what they are doing but also want to every very thing ASAP. Good group of folks and good office culture in the CH office.

    Cons

You are expendable in a second. Raises are few. Promotions outside of sales are unheard of.

    Pros

The company is very laid back but fast paced. You get to work on projects that with tons of exposure to upper management right away. Depending on your manager/director this could be a great resume booster and decent place to spend a few years.

    Cons

Compensation is subpar unless you are a director or above. There is no such thing as a work/life balance as 90% of people are sending urgent email after hours and on Saturday and Sundays. Also, there is little to no personal growth discussed/valued by the management team. The only hope of getting a promotion is if a colleague decides to leave and they can't backfill fast enough and then you have a 50% chance... that's if they like you.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and they will do a better job taking care of your business (and not leave). Also, stop taking business interactions personal (i.e. I don't like this person so I deem their work bad) because believe it or not other employees that you do like are watching an taking heed to how you handle things.

    Pros

A fantastic place to work if you are part of HQ resources. Projects are moved forward with little to no vetting. You can pack five years of learning into a single year, with little to no down side. If your project fails or misses any target, no worries. The staff at the plant will take all hits and will be fired. This creates even more opportunities with continious open positions. Some plants have the entire staff turned over every three years. Check out all the open positions!

    Cons

11-12 hour days are expected, six days a week. Maintence workers be prepard for 7 days. If you part of management, the emails are expected to be answered during all off hours. The continuous change in management leaves large gaps for extended periods of time. Nepotism creeps in and becomes the norm. When the new management figures it out, their time is up, and the cycle start all over again...and he nepotism is the only thing that survives and thrives.

    Advice to Management

Its is not what what you do .... it is what you FAIL to do. Shame on you!
