Pros
This is a great company where you will learn the ins and out of real estate management and how to deal with people. The job itself is fun and fast paced: You are always on your toes and active. The benefits and commission make it worth the stressful moments and coworkers are great.
Cons
This is not a sit back and relax job: Get ready to run yourself ragged each day. The hours can run into the evening past dinner time, but the time passes quickly.
Advice to Senior Management
Find out exactly what each employee sees themselves doing in 5 years from now and help them get there. Provide the extra education and push they need to truly make them an asset for your company.
Pros
Compensation is decent and materials are there to learn from.
Cons
Pinnacle does not thoroughly examine how the properties are ran and upper management only tries to cover up any problems the site might be having instead of correcting the issues. The properties are poorly managed due to the investment manager and employees are treated unfairly based on their "friendship" status with the IM. They only care about their own policies when it benefits them but pays no attention to the policies if it benefits the employee.
Advice to Senior Management
Someone needs to clean house in the Rio Grande Valley otherwise you will end up with only revolving accounts all of which are non-revenue producing tax credit properties.
Pros
i can see they are trying. they are making an atempt as a company to fix problems. the organization as a whole wants to improve based on the things i've seen. has the potential. wide exposure.
Cons
they claim their employees are their greatest asset but their actions prove otherwise. training is only to cover claims against the company - more concerned about policy than people. they continue to step over a dollar to pick up a dime proving a lack of effective leadership. 90% sales attitude and 10% service for the customer will prove disasterious in the years to come. never worked for a company that devalued their employees as bad as this company - on-site and off-site managers dont see or dont care about the toxicity effecting their clients bottom line or their own for that matter.
Advice to Senior Management
get a handle on your problems by talking to the people who see and live them - the line employees. your managers are only going to tell you what you want to hear and(or) pass the buck. cant lose toxicity until you find where it is.
Pros
Pinnacle is a huge company, so there is always room for advancement. In the event the property you work at is lost to another management company, it is easy to stay with Pinnacle and transfer to another community.
Cons
People quit people before they quit companies. Such it true with Pinnacle. Being such a large company, where you work and who you are managed by will vary and give you a different experience. If you are considering working for Pinnacle, my advice is to ask questions about superiors, and if possible, interview with them too, before accepting an offer. As with any company of their size, there are many good people employed here.
Advice to Senior Management
Take a good look on the contracts that you loose and why they were lost. It may be of value to interview each employee at that site and get their feedback.
Pros
If you are capable of working alone without any help this is the job for you.
Cons
Pinnacle is full of promises and lies. They allow upper management to have personal relationships with some employees, they do not promote as they promise, nor do they promote to qualified candidtates. I wouldn't suggest this a place to work.
Advice to Senior Management
Watch your upper management more closely and visit properties without the upper management to really see what is going on.
Pros
great work environment that supported frequent meetings to inform and train employees on changes within the company. Safety meetings regularly.
Cons
Medical benefits were very expensive for the employee. Not very many paid holidays. Paydays wer only twice per month-the 5th and 20th of month
Advice to Senior Management
Consider a benefits program that is more affordable and offer more paid holidays. Pay employees weekly or biweekly for happier employees.
Pros
this was a good chance to learn a lot in a short period of time and the management wasn't overbearing. our manager was also very reasonable and generally good to work with.
Cons
the pay seemed subpar and goals for improvement and incentives were unclear if they were existent.
Advice to Senior Management
communicate goals to employees; potential career paths also.
Pros
If you are the kind of person that thrives in an environment where on your first day, you are sent to a cubicle with a workstation and a login and then are left to figure out what your job is, who you are working with, what your responsibilities are and how the hell you use sharepoint and groupwise, then this is the place for you my friend!
If you are the type of person who likes to wear every hat in the house and work with people who don't communicate on complex projects that have never seen a lick of management or are managed by people that don't know the difference between a hub and router, then sign right here
If you like the idea of being called at any given minute to drive to the owners house and work on his home network because his wife can't open her email and to pay for the equipment needed to fix said problem out of your own pocket and get re-imbursed through an expense sheet, then you have hit nirvana!!!!!
Private medical was cheaper than the benefits offerred by a long shot.
401k matches $100 annually. ( no I'm not kidding)
Office was cramped and in a dismal location and the men's room floods regularly.
Turnover is off the chain at this company.
Cons
I have never worked at a company where so many people quit in their first week of employment. One person quit on the first day! Communication is non-existent. Rudeness is common. All kinds of weird, passive agressive resentment all over the place by everybody.
Advice to Senior Management
Act like you care about your employees.
