    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at PinnacleHealth System full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Customer Service Initiatives are excellent! There are prescribed ways of dealing with everyone in the environment that help preserve a position way of dealing with everyone at every level.

    Cons

As in every job, there are those who are incompetent who get promoted, or get to keep their jobs. I am not sure what can actually be done about this... Their internal equity ratings seem low among employees by department. Nurses, in particular, seem unhappy...however those in admin seem very happy. Days of are MINIMAL. This was the worst part of the employment compensation package. The President/CEO is kind of mean and does not follow simple workplace procedure when seen around campus.

    Advice to Management

    None.

    * Patient Centered * Transfers /opportunities for learning new areas * Bonuses * Family culture * Lots of opportunity for OT * Holidays are paid 2.5x * Fair compensation for experience * Access to new technology * Ability to work for a Magnet Hospital with several certificates of specialty

    Cons

    * Day / Night rotations - hard on any human. * High patient to staff ratios - float pool helps when they can * Every other weekend * No solid dayshift even for senior nurses

    Advice to Management

*Increase shift differential * Consider every 3rd weekend * Prior to setting expectations, ensure they can be met

    Pros

The work environment is team oriented within the coding department.

    Cons

Its challenging when your leader does not have a complete understanding of medical coding.

    Advice to Management

The individuals that lead the departments need to have an understanding of the jobs that they over see. They also needs to understand the ethics that are taken when certain certifications are obtained.

I worked at PinnacleHealth System full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Defiantly patient focused. I enjoyed helping the patients. I liked the easy commute back and forth to work.

    Cons

They don't treat their employees well at all. I left the Neuro office. The manager was more interested In being friends with her employees than implementing rules for ALL.

    Advice to Management

It never pays to be friends with the employees & give special treatment!

I worked at PinnacleHealth System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Great nursing mentors on the floor. -Wide variety of patient experience to be had. -Support in obtaining certifications and continuing education. -Uniforms to distinguish staff roles easily. -Magnet hospital, lots of nursing empowerment. -Frequent nursing in-services that are staff driven. -Teaching hospitals are great places to learn!

    Cons

-Not a lot of cultural understanding or support among some members of staff for the military dependent lifestyle. I found that this was an inter-department issue and over heard disparaging talk regarding military spouses and how frequently they move, "why do we hire them anyway?" sort of thing. -Working the popular day/night swing shift could be rough, runs of days or nights could be as short as a week each with an expected turn around time of ending a night shift Monday morning and being back for day shift on Tuesday.
