Great people, extremely competitive benefits, great pay, and on and on.

    Cons

There are no cons. Just remember, you get out of it what you put into it. Work hard and you will have no issues.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work, and thank you.

    Pros

Pioneer is a great place to work. There are several pros like flex time, generous vacation, and personal time off. The company provides several opportunities each year to take courses to advance ones knowledge about the oil and gas industry.

    Cons

It is not Pioneer's fault - it the nature of the oil and gas industry to have ups and downs. The lay off was just a reflection of the times. I do wish they would not have called us all together to say there will not be a lay off because 2 weeks later there was - around 50 people were let go due to poor performance.

    Advice to Management

I do not have any advice for management. The leaders of this company are smart, crafty, and will land on their feet. They are a very savvy group of businessmen and Pioneer will survive long into the future until the leaders are ready to divest it on their own terms.

    Pros

    Benefits. 2 for 1 - 401k match. Halfday Fridays.

    Cons

Once you're in you don't ever have to leave no matter how lazy you are. Longevity of employment = promotion and almost impossible to fire.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the young people. Just because we haven't been there long doesn't mean we are dumb. If an employee already has multiple complaints against them and another person leaves specifically stating that person as the reason that's a huge red flag. Unfortunately this person continued to work and even got a raise and position boost after the complaint was made known

    Pros

9 years with the company and I don't have one bad thing to say. They shut down my old department and offered me a job in Texas, accompanied by a bonus for finishing the project we were working on, relocation money and a severance package even though I remained employed. Safety is a top priority and CEO, VP etc are committed to employees and the company. Benefits are second to none, opportunity for advancement is excellent and I plan on retiring here.

    Cons

In 9 years with the company I honestly have nothing bad to say about Pioneer. This company is top notch!

    Advice to Management

The only thing I would like to see is compensation increases based on time with the company. For instance my 9 years with the company I get paid the exact same as someone with possibly 2 years and the same job title. I would like to see some reward for dedication to the company. Other than that I completely trust Management and believe they make the best business decisions possible.
