    Pros

PXD is one of the best places to work in the oil and gas industry. Very competitive compensation package and good work life balance. Extensive hands on training plus support from everyone in the company.

    Cons

The company is growing and growing very fast.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work,

    Pros

    Good benefits, and supply uniforms

    Cons

Low Pay, Poor equipment, more worried about safety and being sued than they are actually taking care of their people. Way to much infighting between divisions and Las Colinas does not care .

    Advice to Management

Pay better and hire good qualified and devoted employees instead of whatever we have now.

    Pros

Good pay, excellent benefits, focused on safety, good management (at least in my dept.), nice facilities (if not always well-laid-out), good people overall to work with/for.

    Cons

For many, the hours are long and the schedule is a bit unforgiving. There seems to be a disconnect between the head office and the field offices (as far as vision, spending, etc). Overall operations are, of course, heavily reliant upon the price of oil and so things can change fairly drastically regardless of what you personally do.

    Advice to Management

Upper management at the main office could do more to focus outside their walls. The pain of the downturn does not appear to be equally shared.

    Pros

Well compensated while employed. But they take back the employee retention bonuses when they lay you off. They would rather advertise for a field supervisor than offer it to a laid off supervisor from another division.

    Cons

The "robust" severance package did not include a significant amount of employee retention incentive that was awarded to the laid-off employees. If you are going to refer to it as a employee retention bonus during the busy times; then refer to it as that when you close the Denver and Kansas offices.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your laid off employees as much as your current employees. The current employees will start hearing the steps of the axe man and the hand in their "awarded" incentive bonuses.
