I have been working at Pirelli Tire full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

opportunity for growth lateral growth, multiple resources available to improve job functions, safe work environment, not a lot of meetings

    Cons

you must constantly lookout for co-workers taking credit for your work, tougher for non-Italians to obtain management positions. a lot of "TPS" reports, HR is lacking brain, no clear message or direction from top management, departments do not communicate well with one another, constant revolving CEO's

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

have clear message and direction for various departments. Do not cross message which allows one department to clearly go against other departments.
Keep CEO longer than 2 years to create unity and trust

    Pros

It's a good company to start working for, in the early stage of your career, whichever it might me.
They have nice benefits and a pretty comprehensive insurance package.

    Cons

Almost no training will be provided on the job. Initial salary package could be nice if properly negotiated and depending on their need to fill that position. If you don't go along with your boss, no matter if you're right or not, you'll be out rather quickly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's an italian company so it's unfortunately gender biased, women being favored; rules apply only to mortals, not execs.

I worked at Pirelli Tire full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

None since about 2008. When plant was placed in hands of present management, these slugs took everything good away.

    Cons

Employer does not pay holidays fairly, ends up short changing employee if they work overtime. No chance for advancement if you are not in the clique. Management never sticks to safety procedures or shows concern until something bad happens. Employer then searches for way to blame employee. Very cut-throat company!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Relieve management at your Rome, GA plant and and get managers that know what they are doing!

Brand is well known, sometimes too exotic, but very sexy and exciting to work with

    Cons

    High pressure on quick results
Upper management is constantly changing and too many Italians
    poor work life balance
need more respect for all individuals

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire and retain more Americans in top management positions, and always respect others and speak English in meetings.

I worked at Pirelli Tire full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    * International experience - Maybe get to travel a bit.
    * World-class manufacturing environment at the Rome, GA plant.
    * Clean, safe, professional environment.

    Cons

    * Under-handed and cut-throat management team. No trust anywhere to be found.
    * Firm ceiling for US employees; little opportunity unless you are entry level.
    * Expats are very 'clicky'; don't expect to ever be accepted. This would be ok if they did not hold all the power.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Study global companies like GE and how they manage true diversity. Your 'Italians only' club is the source of your dissatisfaction. Also, stop blaming Rome, GA culture. Your worker issue was even worse when you were in Connecticut.
