    Pros

The pay is decent for the area (Evansville, IN), and the availability for overtime is constant. The 12 hour shifts provide ample off days if that's what you want too.

    Cons

The company really does not care about it's employees. We're owned by a holding company, who knows nothing about making glass, and only care about the bottom line. I guess this is true about most companies, but this particular company makes no attempt to hide the fact. I don't use medical, but according to other employees it sucks. No 401k match. Also, job training is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to the needs of your employees. And train them properly.

    Pros

    Some co workers are tolerable

    Cons

Just about everything from environment to management.

    Advice to Management

Spend some time actually talking to the employees, they actually know what's going on & what could make things better & more profitable.

    Pros

Overtime is almost always available for line workers. Some supervisors are competent and pleasant. The work is not exceptionally difficult.

    Cons

Upper management ignores nearly all ideas and suggestions from lower levels or appropriates them without due credit. Don't expect to have a social life if you work here. The work can be very repetitive and employees usually put in long hours.

    Advice to Management

Not everyone who works for you is an idiot (not to say that there aren't any). You can pay your line workers an hourly wage for their hands, but all it takes to get their minds is even just a pretense of consideration. They'll care if you care.

    Pros

    Pay well. Supplement 401 k

    Cons

Blind to what the people having to do the job have to say.

    Advice to Management

90% are awesome. Some, lack of competence, but they are confident which is self-delusion. No problem yelling just because they can.

I worked at Pittsburgh Glass Works full-time

    Pros

Provided excellent growing opportunities for employees, nice paycheck, and provided all basic needs plus helped me excel even further.

    Cons

While I was there, I was just not satisfied sometimes with how things were ran otherwise it was a great company to work for.

    Advice to Management

Look into the employees issues more and take the time to truly step back and realize that other lower voices need to be heard

    Pros

Employees are nice and helpful. All the overtime you could want.

    Cons

Management treats you like a number. Hiring new employees all the time, because the employees they already have are either getting fired or quit!

    Advice to Management

Treat people the way you would want to be treated!
