I worked at Pittsburgh Mercy full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Made some good friends and learned a lot, like how to be more miserable

    Cons

Most of mercy is a problem. High turnover, low morale, complete lack of respect for nonproviders. Staff is lied to and taken advantage of and environment is very political

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being so greedy and disrespectful to your staff. Clean up the buildings and management. If you focused the spending on patient care instead of new cars and jets, everyone would be happier

I have been working at Pittsburgh Mercy full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Good continuing education opportunities and good place for a new nurse as it is a teaching hospital, if you get into the right department.

    Cons

Extremely high staff turnover due to management not involved in or addressing staffing needs. Points for being late or absent accrue but only fall off after 1 year which is punitive. Seems like management is trying harder to fire than to keep really good employees. Nepotism needs to be addressed especially on the managerial level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time with employees and attempt to address the high staff turnover, which is demoralizing for all.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

They have great benefits, friendly people to work with

    Cons

Tend to cut down paid employee's hours because of the student clinical sessions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut down clinicals to improve on the hired employee's hours.
